長期離脱しているレアル・マドリーのスペイン代表DFダニエル・カルバハルが、自身のケガやキャリアについて語った。 カルバハルは10月5日、ラ・リーガ第9節のビジャレアル戦で右ヒザを負傷。前十字じん帯、外側側副じん帯、膝窩筋腱をいずれも断裂する大ケガとなり、手術を受けた。 復帰までは1年と見込まれ、マドリーは右サイドバック補強も取り沙汰されている状況。そんななか、カルバハルが11月下旬に自宅で応じた『Esquire』のインタビューが先日公開され、自身のケガについて前向きな考えを述べている。 「これは長期的なものとして考えなければならない。そういう意味では、毎日と毎週の目標を達成できている…。松葉杖なしで歩くことができるようになったし、ジムトレーニングやサイクリングもできるようになった。屈伸もできるようになってきた…。短期的な目標だけど達成している。満足しているよ」 「僕はキャリアの中で複数のケガをしてきた。食事や休息、取り組み方についてもっと早く理解していれば、いくつのケガは避けられたかもしれない。もちろんこのケガはトラウマになった。良いタイミングでやってきてしまった。僕は副キャプテンだし、チーム内で重要な選手だった。だけど、こういったことはいつ起こるかわからない。それに、何年も大きなケガをせずに過ごせたことを神にも感謝している」 「家庭においてもクラブにおいても、僕の人生がより豊かに、充実している時に起こった。その一方で、何カ月も離脱するとわかっているから、3日おきに遠征してプレーしたりする競技上のストレスを感じないのは良いかもしれない。もしかしたら、これでキャリアが数年伸びるかもしれない」 また、負傷後には多くの励ましのメッセージが届いたとのこと。ライバルクラブであるアトレティコ・マドリーのディエゴ・シメオネ監督からも温かい言葉を受け取ったようだ。 「実のところ、とても愛されていると感じたよ。多くの人がメッセージをくれたり、電話をかけてくれたり、サポートや愛情を示してくれた。この機会に皆さんに感謝を伝えたいね」 「だけど、チョロ・シメオネから嬉しい驚きのメッセージがあったのも事実だ。サッカーを愛している人で、僕がとても尊敬している人だ。ライバル関係は別としてね。僕らはこのスポーツを多くの感情とともに観るというビジョンを共有していると思うし、あのメッセージは特別な瞬間として覚えている。ここから大きなハグを送るよ」 さらに、復帰目標についても語ったカルバハル。2025年6月に開催される新フォーマットのFIFAクラブ・ワールドカップ(CWC)の出場を目指しているようだ。 「それ(CWC)が僕の目標だ。 6月上旬は手術してから8カ月になる。すべてがどう進んでいくか様子を見よう。ヒザは時間がかかる。そこを目標に設定しているけど、日が近づくにつれ実現可能かどうかがわかる」 一方で、32歳サイドバックは自身のキャリアにも言及。昨シーズンまでのチームメイトで、義理の兄弟(両者の妻が双子の姉妹)にあたるスペイン代表FWホセルが現在はカタールのアル・ガラファでプレーするが、自身も中東行きを考えているという。 「彼(ホセル)は(カタールでのプレーを)喜んでいるよ。普通とは異なる経験だ。すべてのスタジアムが近くにあるし、生活の質が非常に高い。そして、彼はキャリア終盤に華を添える多大な報酬を手にすることができる。彼自身にとっても、義理の妹にとっても、甥たちにとっても大きな幸せだ」 「(ホセルには)ここで待っている。君のために右サイドバックは空けてあると言われたよ(笑)」 「(自身の中東行きの可能性も)間違いなくある。おかしいことだとは思えない。レアル・マドリーを離れることがあれば、ヨーロッパではプレーしないし、チャンピオンズリーグでもスペインでもマドリーとは対戦しないとすでに言っている。おそらく可能性の高い行き先になるだろう」 「僕は32歳で、もう子供ではない。何が残っているだろうか? サッカーはあと4、5年くらいかな? それほど多くの時間はないし、時が経つのは早い」 2024.12.26 22:10 Thu

自国スペインの選手が去りゆくレアル・マドリー…チームの中枢に残るはカルバハルら一握り
