サポーターの熱量ならばクロアチアもアルゼンチンに引けを取らない。準決勝でアルゼンチン代表に敗れたクロアチアは、17日のカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)3位決定戦でモロッコ代表と対戦。セットプレーからヨシュコ・グヴァルディオルのヘディングで7分に先制し、直後に追い付かれはしたものの、42分にミスラフ・オルシッチが見事なコントロールショットを沈め、2-1で勝利を収めた。

クロアチアの首都ザグレブでは、イェラチッチ広場や通りを埋め尽くすほどの人が集まった。マフラーや国旗を掲げ、花火を焚いて勝利の歓喜に酔いしれた。
アルゼンチンも決勝進出時にはブエノスアイレスのマージョ広場に多数のファンが詰めかけ、オーストラリアでも決勝トーナメント進出決定の際にはお祭り騒ぎとなっていたが、クロアチアの熱量も負けてはいない。

3度目のW杯入賞を果たしたクロアチアは、帰国後にセレモニーを予定している。前回大会の準優勝時のパレードは大きな盛り上がりを見せていたが、今回も多数のサポーターで埋め尽くされそうだ。

長さ200m!クロアチアサポーターが超巨大なビッグフラッグで選手にエール「W杯で優勝したいんだ」
