改めて感じた地上波の影響力…1000回を超える連載の最終回/六川亨の日本サッカーの歩み

突然ですが、本日を最後に週2回のコラムは終了することになりました。毎週月曜のコラムがスタートしたのは2001年のこと。当時はガラケーでの有料サイトだった。年末年始も休載のないスタイルに最初は戸惑ったものの、それでも1年365日、休まずに続け、単純計算でも17年×48回(年間)で816本ほどのコラムを書いたことになる。 記憶は定かではないが、2018年からは月曜に加え木曜のコラムもスタートし週2回となった。これはかなりのプレッシャーで、近年は何回か休載したこともある。それでも01年からトータルすれば1000回は超えていたのではないだろうか。 そんなコラムの最後を前に、まずは日本代表のW杯出場を伝えられたことはうれしい限り。そして改めて思ったのは、テレビの地上波の影響力の強さだ。2試合ともテレビ朝日が放映したが、同局は番宣のため早朝の番組から日本戦を取り上げて、なんとか盛り上げようとした。普段からテレ朝を見る機会が多いせいかもしれないが、午前中のモーニングショーからワイドスクランブルまで、しつこいくらいに試合の情報を発信した。 これだけ日本の試合が開催されることを訴えれば、普段はサッカーにあまり関心のない視聴者も気になったかもしれない。そしてW杯出場を決めたバーレーン戦は20%以上の視聴率だったそうだ。試合後も、テレ朝だけでなく多くのテレビ局が日本の勝利とW杯出場をワイドショーで取り上げていた。その宣伝効果は計り知れないだろう。 さすがに毎日と言って良いくらい試合があるMLB、大谷翔平の活躍と露出度には到底かなわない。試合開始が日本時間早朝というのも、ワイドショーにはピッタリはまる時間帯なのだろう。しかしホームランを打てばNHKのニュースはもちろん、民放各局もワイドショーで終日取り上げる。その宣伝効果は絶大だ。 その点、週1試合が原則のサッカーは分が悪い。いくら三笘薫や久保建英が活躍しても連日テレビで取り上げられることはないからだ。それでも海外リーグで活躍する選手が、テレビのスポーツ番組ではなくワイドショーで取り上げられる時代が来たのだから、これはこれで凄いことだと思う。 そしてテレビの影響力の強さを改めて見せつけられるたびに残念に思うのは、日本代表の試合やW杯中継からの地上波の撤退である。放映権料の高騰が主な原因だが、NHKなどは世界に先駆けて“有料化”を導入したのだから、せめて代表戦はホーム、アウェーとも中継すべきである。DAZNのように簡単に、相次いで値上げできない事情もあるのだろうが、MLBをライブ中継しているように、サッカーの代表戦やW杯では頑張って欲しいものだ。それがファン層の拡大につながるのは間違いないし、日本サッカーの発展と強化に寄与することも疑う余地はないだろう。 活字メディアの衰退が進み、定期的に発行しているJリーグや日本代表を扱うサッカー専門誌は『ダイジェスト』1誌になった。『エルゴラ』はネット媒体に移行して奮闘しているものの、ネットのサッカー情報も飽和状態で厳しい戦いを続けている。スポーツ紙ではトーチューが休刊となったが、後に続くスポーツ紙がないとは限らない。メディアにとってサッカーは、ビジネスとして成立しにくい時代が来ているのかもしれない。それはそれで、寂しいものでもある。 長い間のご愛読、ありがとうございました。 文・六川亨 2025.03.31 22:00 Mon

批判も受けたドイツ代表ユニフォームに問題…ナチスの「SS」に類似との指摘を受け「4」のフォントを変更、アディダスは購入中止に

ドイツ代表キミッヒが風邪で帰国…アメリカ戦も欠場

「これはどっちも買う」「素敵すぎ」ドイツ代表のW杯ユニが大好評!ホームは1908年をモチーフに

ロナウドとの会話を明かすクロース「今後の試合について簡単に話をした」
