日本人も多くプレーするイングランド女子サッカーの人気沸騰…残り6節で最多入場者数を更新、2月には歴代最多の1試合6万人超

イングランドでの女子サッカー熱はかなり高まりを見せているようだ。 FA女子スーパーリーグ(FAWSL)は、イングランドの女子サッカーの最高峰リーグ。プレミアリーグに所属するトップクラブの女子チームの多くが参戦している。 近年は日本人選手も大量にプレーしており、今シーズンはなでしこジャパンでプレーするMF長谷川唯(マンチェスター・シティ)、MF長野風花(リバプール)、FW宮澤ひなた(マンチェスター・ユナイテッド)、DF清水梨紗、MF林穂之香、FW植木理子(いずれもウェストハム)、FW浜野まいか(チェルシー)、MF籾木結花、MF宝田沙織(共にレスター・シティ)がプレーしている。 その他にもワールドクラスの選手が多くプレーするFAWSLだが、今シーズンの人気は圧倒的だという。 イギリス『BBC』によると、15日にスタンフォード・ブリッジで行われたチェルシーvsアーセナルでは、チェルシーがクラブ記録となる3万2970人を動員したとのこと。この試合により、今シーズンの総入場者数が71万7721人となった。 年々人気が高まっており、2022-23シーズンは過去最高の入場者数を記録。その数は68万9297人であり、すでに今シーズンは記録を更新することとなった。 なお、リーグ戦は残り6節、36試合あり、いかに今シーズンの集客数が飛び抜けているかが分かるだろう。 その要因の1つは男子チームが使用するスタジアムでの試合数が増加したこともあるとされ、スタジアムのキャパシティが大幅に増えたことが影響。ただ、そのキャパシティを埋めるだけの観客が集まることが熱狂を産んでいる。 2月にはアーセナルがマンチェスター・ユナイテッドをエミレーツ・スタジアムに迎えた試合で、6万160人を動員。これはFAWSL史上最高記録となっている。 2024.03.20 13:10 Wed

長谷川唯フル出場のシティがなでしこトリオ先発のウェストハムに5発大勝で暫定首位!得失点差でもチェルシーに圧【FAWSL】

「本当に良いリーグ」浦和新戦力のスウェーデン代表MFグスタフソンが日本を語る「成長するための素晴らしい条件が揃っている」

浦和レッズのスウェーデン代表MFサミュエル・グスタフソンが、日本の印象や移籍の理由を語った。スウェーデン『Sportbladet』が伝えた。 かつてイタリアのトリノなどにも在籍した29歳の長身守備的MFグスタフソン。2021年夏からは母国クラブのBKヘッケンでプレーしていたが、共に戦っていたペア・マティアス・ヘグモ監督が浦和の指揮官へ就任すると、後を追う形でグスタフソンの浦和入りも決まった。 明治安田J1リーグ開幕後はここまで4試合全てで先発し、第3節北海道コンサドーレ札幌戦では元日本代表DF酒井宏樹の決勝ゴールをアシスト。続く第4節湘南ベルマーレ戦では移籍後初ゴールを記録するなど、早くも新天地で存在感を発揮している。 今月下旬の代表ウィークに向けては、ヨン・ダール・トマソン監督が新たに就任したスウェーデン代表の招集メンバーにも選出されており、21日のポルトガル代表戦や25日のアルバニア代表戦に臨む。 代表招集を機に『Sportbladet』の取材を受けたグスタフソンは、浦和移籍時のハプニングを回想。1月21日に娘が生まれたものの、その1週間後に家族を残して日本へ渡っていたという。 それでも今回のスウェーデン代表合流に際し、久々に家族と再会できる模様。代表活動後は家族揃って日本へ向かえるようで、その喜びを口にしている。 「家族と一緒にいられるのは素晴らしいことだ。全てがうまくいった。日本は秩序があり、礼儀正しく、規律正しい国だが、家族がいないのは当然寂しかった」 また、グスタフソンは浦和移籍を決断した理由も説明。東アジアでの新たな挑戦に刺激を受けたようだ。 「退屈な話に聞こえるかもしれないが、僕がここ(浦和)に移籍した理由は総合的なものだ。イタリアに移籍してプレーした時、自分が人間としてどう成長したかを感じた。ここではとてもエキサイティングな新しい文化を経験できるし、経済的にも恵まれている。ハイレベルなサッカーを要求されるし、タイトルを獲るという野心もある」 さらに、実際にJリーグで実際にプレーしてみた上での感想もコメント。4試合を戦って1勝2分け1敗の浦和については、成熟まで時間がかかると予想している。 「本当に良いリーグだよ。選手たちは高い技術を持っているし、日本人は少し小柄な選手が多いが、非常に速い。テンポが良く、規律あるチームだ」 「野望はリーグタイトルを目指して争うことだが、ペア・マティアス(・ヘグモ)は新監督だし、何人かの新しい選手もいる。これからの試合で自分たちのスタイルを見つけなければならない。良いことだが、少し時間がかかるだろう。そういう意味でこの(札幌戦の)勝利は非常に良いものだったし、少しの平穏と調和をもたらしてくれた」 日本の環境面にも言及。「ホーム開幕戦には51000人の観客が集まった。すごかったよ」と埼玉スタジアム2002でプレーした感想を述べている。また、スタジアム外でも感銘を受けているようだ。 「トレーニング施設は非常に充実している。ヘッケンも多くの面でレベルが高かったが、ここはさらに上のレベルだ。チームを取り巻くスタッフの数も大幅に増えた。大きくて素敵なスタジアムがたくさんあるし、観客も多く、雰囲気も良い。とても楽しいよ」 「選手として、人間として成長するための素晴らしい条件が揃っている」 プレシーズンキャンプでは開催地の沖縄にも衝撃を受けたようで、「信じられないような気候と楽園のようなビーチだった」とその感動を表現。「日本語を少し勉強したい」とも述べており、さらなる順応に前向きのようだ。 2024.03.18 19:06 Mon

元デンマーク代表トマソンがスウェーデン代表監督に就任! 初の外国人指揮官に

スウェーデンサッカー協会(SvFF)は26日、ヨン・ダール・トマソン氏(47)のスウェーデン代表監督就任を発表した。契約期間は2026年までとなる。 現役時代にフェイエノールトやミランなどで活躍し、デンマーク代表でもポール・ニールセン氏と並ぶ歴代最多タイの52ゴールをマークした名ストライカーのトマソン氏。2011年夏に現役を退いてからはオランダのエクセルシオールで指導者の道を歩み始め、エクセルシオールとローダで監督を、デンマーク代表でアシスタントコーチを歴任。2022年夏からチャンピオンシップ(イングランド2部)のブラックバーン・ローヴァーズの監督に就任した。 だが、スウェーデン代表からのオファーを受け、今月9日にアシスタントコーチのレミー・レイニエルス氏と共に双方合意の下で契約を解消していた。 なお、スウェーデンでのプレー経験はないが、2020年から2021年まで同国屈指の名門マルメの監督を務めていた。 スウェーデン代表史上初の外国人指揮官となる47歳のデンマーク人指揮官は、「この素晴らしい任務を開始し、スウェーデンでサポーター、プレーヤー、もちろんメディアの皆さんにお会いできることをとても楽しみにしています」とコメントしている。 3月1日付けでの就任となるトマソン新監督は、同月に行われるポルトガル、アルバニアとのフレンドリーマッチでスウェーデン代表での仕事をスタートし、2026年北中米ワールドカップ出場権獲得を目指す。 ※SvFFは初の外国人監督と伝えているが、ハンガリー人のナジ・ヨージェフ氏が1924～1927年、1934年、1938年と通算3度指揮官を務めている。 2024.02.27 06:00 Tue

「世界一スタイリッシュなクラブ」と称されるAIKが16世紀の油絵モチーフとした限定ユニフォームを発表、過去にはなでしこ林も在籍
