12日、パリで「NBAパリゲーム2024」が開催。クリーブランド・キャバリアーズがブルックリン・ネッツを111-102で下した。3度目となるパリでの試合には、サッカー界のスター選手たちも多く姿を現していた。

そこで実現したのは、元ブラジル代表FWロナウド氏と元イングランド代表MFデイビッド・ベッカム氏の2ショット。銀河系軍団と呼ばれた頃のレアル・マドリーで一緒にプレーしていた時期もある2人。2002年の日韓ワールドカップ(W杯)では、どちらも主役級の活躍や人気を誇っていた。

2人は、NBAで活躍したレジェンドのトニー・パーカー氏と一緒に試合を観戦。SNS上のファンは「銀河系軍団」、「レジェンド」、「だいぶ変わったなぁ」、「豪華すぎる」とコメントし、レジェンド同士の共演を喜んでいる。

元マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのスポーツディレクター(SD)、ダン・アシュワース氏が、イングランドサッカー協会(FA)に復帰することになった。 FAは14日、アシュワース氏が新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任すると発表。同職ではイングランド代表の男女チームと緊密に連携していくことになるという。昨年12月にユナイテッドのSDをわずか5カ月で退任したアシュワース氏。それ以前にはブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオン、ニューカッスルで手腕を発揮しており、国内外のクラブからのオファーも想定されていたが、2018年まで6年間に渡って勤務していたFAに復帰することになった。アシュワース氏は、セント・ジョージズ・パークの再開発を監督し、2028年に開催されるユーロ2028の共催に向け、競技施設とピッチの改善を目指す。さらに、この新役職は、男子フットボールのテクニカルディレクターであるジョン・マクダーモット氏と緊密に連携するとともに、FAの最高経営責任者(CEO)であるマーク・ブリンガム氏とも連携する。また、イングランド国内の地元出身のコーチの育成にも携わる予定だという。 2025.05.15 16:30 Thu

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】

相手が恐れる右手…ストライカーの完成形と呼ばれた男、アラン・シアラー
