だが、元マドリーのドクター、ヘスス・オルモ氏の考えは少々異なる様子。オルモ氏はC・ロナウドよりもレアル・マドリーのウェールズ代表FWガレス・ベイルの方がより完全なアスリートであると信じているようだ。スペイン『イデアル』に次のように語っている。

驚異の身体能力持つC・ロナウドの垂直跳びの記録は?かつてはほぼ3mの高さからヘディングシュート

C・ロナウドは破局したら毎月1600万円を支払い? 「妻」と呼んで話題のジョルジーナさんとの間に契約が発覚

「僕が何をしたってあの男は…」トッテナムで主力に成長のDFスペンス、かつての指揮官コンテから受けた冷遇振り返り「謙虚になりすぎた」
トッテナムで活躍するイングランド人DFジェド・スペンスは、これまで正当な扱いを受けていなかったと不満を漏らした。イギリス『イブニング・スタンダード』が伝えている。 2022年夏に、ミドルズブラからトッテナム加入を果たしたスペンス。しかし当時の指揮官だったアントニオ・コンテ監督からは冷遇され、チームで居場所を得られず。その後、2023年夏からクラブにはアンジェ・ポステコグルー監督が就任したが、ここでも信頼を掴めなかったことでレンタル移籍が続いていた。 昨夏トッテナムへ復帰するも、ポステコグルー監督からの評価は上がらぬまま、序盤はベンチが定位置に。それでも、負傷者続出の影響もあってシーズン中盤から出場機会を掴むとついに真価を発揮し、ここまで公式戦24試合2ゴール2アシストを記録している ファンからの評価も鰻登りのスペンスだが、やはりこれまで受けていた扱いには不満だった様子。元イングランド代表DFであるリオ・ファーディナンド氏との対談の中でスペンスは、トッテナムでのこれまでのキャリアを振り返り不満を口にしつつ、ようやく掴んだ現在の充実をキープしたいと意気込んでいる。 「(コンテ監督からの扱いに)良い気分ではなかった。特にあの時、クラブにやって来た時は自信に満ち、興奮していたんだ。前所属先で昇格を勝ち取ったばかりだったしね」 「そこから、レンガの壁にぶつかったような気分になった。自信も少し打ち砕かれてしまったよ。僕は若い選手だったし、(望む補強ではなかったと)監督から聞いて良い気分にはなれないさ」 「その時は、くだらないと思っていた。良い気分でもなかった。練習に行く時だって『自分は何をやっているんだろう』と思っていたよ。僕が何をしたって、あの男(コンテ)は何も喜んでいなかったと思う」 「だから、たとえ正しいことをしたとしても、『自分は正しいことをしたのか?』という感じだった。彼はあまり褒めてくれる男ではないからね」 「監督からの評価なんて必要ないって思うようになるんだ。何があっても『あぁ』となるだけだ。彼と会話したのは、おそらく1回だけだった」 「そこから新しい監督が来れば、『よし、全員に公平なチャンスが与えられるはずだ。彼(ポステコグルー)は全員に目を向けてくれる』と思うものだろう。でも、僕の扱いを見れば本当にそうだったとは思わない。それもフットボールというゲームの一部だけどね。公平ではないんだ」 「ポステコグルー監督は基本的に、クラブから出て違うところでプレーする必要があると言っただけだった。そしてそれが、僕がリーズに行くことになったきっかけでもある」 「自分に相応しいと思うチャンスが得られないこともあるさ。でも、僕は常に自分が十分に優れていると理解していた。人々は『彼が2度目のチャンスを得て、うまくやっているのは良いことだ』と言う。でも、僕に最初のチャンスが本当にあったとは思わない」 「これこそ僕の最初のチャンスであり、それを掴んだんだ。一生懸命努力し、一貫性を保ち、準備ができていたことを嬉しく思う」 「(トッテナム加入時は)謙虚になりすぎたせいで、自分を犠牲にしていたとも思う。何もせず、何も言わなければ、物事は自然に起こると思っていたんだ。でも、時には自分を表現しなくてはならない」 「トッテナムでの最初の年、ここはトッテナムだからと考え、選手や周囲に少し敬意を払いすぎたと思う。(ミドルズブラからレンタル移籍していた)ノッティンガム・フォレストを出て、来たのはプレミアリーグのトップ6だ。『ふー、これはすごい』と思っていた」 「でも、彼らに敬意を払いすぎたせいで、自分らしくいられなかった。僕がそこに行ったとき、ハリー・ケインやソニー(ソン・フンミン)のような大物たちを見て、誰の足も踏みたくなかったんだ」 「でも、そうやって自分の本来あるべき姿を表現しなかったのが、おそらく僕の最大の失敗だった。今シーズンはそれが変わったと言えるね。もう無駄にする時間はない。取りに行かなければならない。今がその時だ」 2025.03.25 18:45 Tue

10年前、当時21歳のベイルがCLで覚醒…!インテル相手に記録した衝撃のハットトリック【CL名場面プレイバック】
