リバプールのギリシャ代表DFコンスタンティノス・ツィミカスとエジプト代表FWモハメド・サラーが日本の伝統遊びに挑戦している。2023年夏に日本代表MF遠藤航が加入したリバプール。女子チームにはなでしこジャパンMF長野風花の所属しており、2人ともチームの主力として活躍を見せている。

現在はアジアカップに参加している遠藤やアフリカネイションズカップに参加しているサラーらが不在だが、クラブは15日に公式SNSを更新。離脱前に撮影した、選手たちが“だるま落とし”に挑戦する様子をアップした。
最初に挑戦したのは、ツィミカス。ピッチではスコットランド代表DFアンドリュー・ロバートソンのバックアッパーとして、出場時には高いパフォーマンスを見せるサイドバックだが、“だるま落とし”は勝手が違ったようだ。

何度挑戦しても成功することはできず、しまいにはだるまの位置を調整するインチキまで。それでも成功はできず、その難しさに思わず大きな声を上げる場面もあった。
そんなツィミカスとは対照的に、“だるま落とし”の才能を発揮したのが、チームの大黒柱であるサラーだ。

恐らく“だるま落とし”をやるのは初めてのはずだが、それを感じさせないスムーズな手つきでだるまの下の積み木を弾いていくと、バランスが崩れてからはハンマーを入れる角度を調整するテクニックまで披露し、見事に一発クリアとなった。

これには、日本のファンも驚きを隠せず。「サラーの圧倒的センスを感じて微笑ましくなりました」、「だるま落としのポイントは振り抜くことだよ! ツィミカスさん」、「ツィミカスそれはファウルやで」、「直しちゃダメよ」、「ツィミカス酷すぎるw」、「遠藤が持ち込んだのか?」と多くの反響が寄せられている。

ガブリエウとヘンダーソン口論、FAは不問に…「申告された疑惑の発言は確認されなかった」
