ナイキの最新フットボールキャンペーン「Footballverse」のプロモーション映像が注目を集めている。
ナイキは16日、「全ての世代のアスリートがスポーツの歴史に名を残し、そのスポーツの世界を広げただけではなく、未来の世代のアスリートたちが自分達の爪痕を刻むことを励ましている」との主張のもと、「Footballverse」を展開。過去から現代に至るナイキの偉大なプレイヤーたちが主役となり、彼らが一つのピッチで競う世界を、想像力と遊び心を交えて描いた。
ストーリーはスイスのジュネーブにある秘密研究所を舞台とする。科学者たちは、現代のフランス代表FWキリアン・ムバッペと2006年のロナウジーニョ、どちらが優れているかという議論を発端に、「マルチバース」と呼ばれる仮想選手を召喚して実際に対戦させようと試みた。
フィルムには2人のほかに、元ブラジル代表のロナウド氏、ポルトガル代表FWクリスティアーノ・ロナウドとその息子ジュニアくんや、アメリカ女子代表FWアレックス・モーガンなど10名を超えるナイキの契約アスリートが登場。は映画「ときめきサイエンス」のダニー・エルフマン作曲でオインゴ・ボインゴによる懐かしいサウンドトラックも採用されている。
新旧レジェンドの共演には「これまでに作成された最高のマルチバース!」、「涙がこぼれました」、「ナイキは常にコマーシャルで先を行っています」、「美しく壮大で記憶に残るコマーシャル!」といった大賛辞が寄せられた。
また、実在の登場人物のみならず、イナズマイレブンのキャラクター、豪炎寺修也も登場。「ゴウエンジが出てきてカッコいい」「GOUENJIが入っているだけで最高のサッカーCM」「みんなGouenjiを入れた」「豪炎寺修也、史上最高!」と、日本のゲームキャラクターには海外のファンからも熱い視線が注がれることとなった。

セレッソ大阪は、MF乾貴士とFWアダム・タガートの手術結果を発表した。
乾は以前から違和感があった左ヒザを15日に手術を実施。右ヒザ軟骨損傷と診断され、全治は、術後2カ月とのことだ。
また、アダム・タガートは、10月27日に行われた天皇杯準々決勝の名古屋グランパス戦で負傷。左ヒザ前十字じん帯損傷と診断されていた。
オーストラリアで8日に手術。左ヒザ半月板損傷と診断され、全治は術後2カ月とのことだ。
乾は今夏エイバルから復帰。明治安田生命J1リーグで8試合1得点、YBCルヴァンカップで4試合に出場していた。
アダム・タガートは今シーズンから加入し、明治安田J1で12試合に出場し1得点を記録していた。

世界的に有名な元ポルノ女優のミア・ハリファさん。現在は引退しており、インフルエンサーとして活躍しているが、実は大のサッカーファンとしても知られている。
現在29歳のミアさんは、スポーツ好きであり、特にサッカーがお気に入り。レバノン出身で、8歳の時に不安定な国内情勢の影響でアメリカへ家族と共に亡命していた。
世界的にも人気を博したミアさんはウェストハムのファンであることを公言。プレミアリーグのドリームチームを自身で組むなど、サッカーへの愛が非常に強いことでも知られている。
そのミアさんはYouTubeチャンネルの『AFTV』に出演。自身のお気に入りの現役選手3名を選ぶという企画に参加した。
しかし、ミアさんは現役選手ではなく、かつてマンチェスター・ユナイテッドでプレーし、イングランド代表のレジェンドでもあるデイビッド・ベッカムをまず挙げることに。「私は女性なのでベックスと言わざるを得ないわ」とコメント。理由が実に斬新で「12歳の時の私よりも高い声で彼が話すのを聞く度に、いつも笑わせてもらうわ。とても楽しいの」と、ベッカムの高い声がどうやらお気に入りらしい。
そして2人目に挙げたのがこれまた現役選手ではなく、ユベントスやレアル・マドリーで活躍し、フランス代表のレジェンドでもあるジネディーヌ・ジダンをピックアップした。
ジダンを選んだ理由については「ジネディーヌ・ジダンはサッカーを見てきた中で、最もエキサイティングだった」と、こちらは真面目にサッカー面でお気に入りの選手とのこと。ただ「私は暴力的なものが好きだけど、サッカーはバタバタしていて嫌になるわ。でもヘッドバッドは史上最高の瞬間だったわね」と、2006年のドイツW杯決勝でジダンがイタリア代表DFマルコ・マテラッツィに見舞った頭突きがお気に入りだという。
そして3人目に挙げたのが現役選手。唯一選ばれた現役選手はセルティックに所属し、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)にも出場したオーストラリア代表MFアーロン・モーイだ。
日本代表FW前田大然、MF旗手怜央、FW古橋亨梧、MF井手口陽介とチームメイトとして今シーズンプレー。かつてはウェスタン・シドニー・ワンダラーズでMF小野伸二(北海道コンサドーレ札幌)共プレーしたことがある。
モーイを選んだ理由については、「フットボール界のカワイ・レナードのようなものね」と語り、NBAのロサンゼルス・クリッパーズに所属するバスケットボールプレーヤーに例え、「モーイはレナードのように行動する。カメラは苦手だし、ちょっとおっちょこちょいだけど、それを感じさせないわ」と語り、「わからないけど、彼を思い出すの。カワイ・レナードは良い男よ」と、またしても独特な理由で選出していた。

U-20日本女子代表は13日、AFC U20女子アジアカップの準決勝でU-20オーストラリア女子代表と対戦し、5-1で勝利。4大会連続7度目の優勝へ向け、決勝進出を決めた。
日本はグループBを2勝1敗(ベトナム戦10〇0、中国戦2〇0、北朝鮮戦0●1)の2位で通過。ベスト4入りと、コロンビアで開催されるU-20女子ワールドカップ(W杯)の出場権を獲得した。
10番の松窪真心(ノースカロライナ・カレッジ)が所属クラブの事情で離脱となった中で、オーストラリア戦は[4-2-3-1]でスタート。GKには鹿島彩莉、最終ラインは右から小山史乃観、白垣うの、米田博美、佐々木里緒と並ぶ。ダブルボランチにキャプテンの林愛花と角田楓佳、中盤2列目は右から久保田真生、天野紗、辻澤亜唯、1トップは土方麻椰が務めた。
対してオーストラリアはグループAを3連勝の首位通過(韓国戦2〇1、ウズベキスタン戦2〇0、チャイニーズ・タイペイ戦3〇0)。中盤をダイヤモンドにした[4-4-2]を敷いた。
開始2分に林が左足のミドルを披露した日本は、直後に久保田のクロスで得た右CKから早々に試合を動かす。3分、天野のストレート性のキックをGKクロエ・リンカーンがパンチングしながら後逸すると、米田が頭で押し込んだ。
幸先よく先制に成功した日本は、6分に佐々木のクロスに天野のヘッド、9分には辻澤が一対一と、立て続けに好機を迎えたが、いずれも決め切れず。すると、オーストラリアがワンチャンスを生かして同点に追い付く。
FKから窮地をしのぎ、2トップの一角・唯一の海外組でもあるミリー・ボートンが中盤でのキープから白垣のチャレンジしたタイミングでサイドバックとの間へスルーパスを通す。裏を取ったペタ・トリミスが一対一を制し、今大会3得点目を挙げる。
追い付かれた日本だが、セカンドボール争いで上回り、以降も主導権を掌握。21分には土方のスルーパスから久保田が右ポケットから狙えば、林や佐々木も積極的に足を振り、相手を押し込んだまま前半を終えた。
日本はハーフタイムで2枚替えを行い、林に代えて大山愛笑、久保田に代わって松永未夢を投入。後半は前からプレスに来たオーストラリアの圧をかわし、最終ラインもオフサイドの網に掛ける。
攻撃陣も、右に回った辻澤が56分にゴールライン際をえぐり、マイナスの折り返しに天野。ここは空振りに終わるも、60分には天野の右CKからニアで白垣が合わせる。だが、これはクロスバーを越えた。
それでも日本はその3分後に勝ち越しに成功。天野のストレート性左CKからニアで再び白垣が合わせると、オーストラリアDF2人にディフレクトし、ゴールに吸い込まれた。
再びのリードを奪った日本はその後もオーストラリア陣地でゲームを進め、83分には波状攻撃からこぼれ球に反応した土方が今大会4点目となる右上隅へのコントロールショットを沈めて点差を広げる。
さらに88分には左ポケット最深部まで侵入した土方の折り返しから途中出場の笹井一愛がネットを揺らし、その1分後には松永のクロスが相手のオウンゴールを誘発。一気呵成の連続得点で勝負を決めた。
また、先立って行われていた、グループBを首位抜けしたU-20北朝鮮女子代表と、グループAを2位で通過したU-20韓国女子代表の一戦は、3-0で北朝鮮が勝利を収めた。
前半終了間際にチェ・イルソンのゴールで試合を動かすと、前半スクランブル投入されたジョン・クムが折り返しての51分に追加点を奪取。78分にはファン・ユヨンのクロスがそのままゴールに吸い込まれ、点差を広げての無失点勝ちで決勝進出を果たしている。
北朝鮮との再戦となる決勝戦は16日にJARスタジアムで開催され、キックオフは22:00予定となっている。

財務問題が噴出したオーストラリアのAリーグだが、男子2部リーグ創設の動きは変わらないようだ。オーストラリア『news.com.au』が伝えている。
オーストラリアサッカー界の男女ともにトップディビジョンであるAリーグを巡っては、16日以降、複数の同国メディアが管轄であるオーストラリア・プロフェッショナル・リーグス(APL)の財務問題を報じ、従業員の大規模リストラを軸とした事業再編の動きが確認されている。
また、Aリーグ・コミッショナーも「Aリーグの観客動員数低迷」を主な要因とするAPLのデジタル部門廃止・リストラに向けた動きを認めたなか、Aリーグ創設当初にAPLとともにリーグ運営を行ってきたフットボール・オーストラリア(FFA/サッカー連盟)は、再び運営参加することに消極的であることも判明している。
しかし、FFAはAリーグの商業面、すなわち“運営”にこそ関与していないものの、オーストラリアのサッカー連盟としてリーグを“監督する立場”であることは言わずもがな。選手・役員登録や移籍システムなどはFFAを通して行われる。
かねてより進行してきたAリーグ・メン(男子)の2部リーグ制導入も、APLではなくFFAが主導で取り組んでおり、『news.com.au』によると、APLの財務問題に関わらず、最速で2025-26シーズンから2部リーグを創設する取り組みは続いていくという。
すでに同国で人口が集中する南東部のシドニー、メルボルンを中心に、8クラブの将来的な2部リーグ参入が認められており、さらに最大4クラブの参入が認められる可能性も。そうなると、今季のAリーグ・メンと同じく12チーム編成(※1)ということになる。
(※1)2024-25シーズンより首都キャンベラ、オークランド(ニュージーランド/越境参加)から2クラブが新規参入予定で14チーム編成に
なお、現在はAリーグ・メンが唯一のプロリーグで、2部リーグに相当するのは各州(全8州)の最上位リーグであるナショナル・プレミアリーグ(NPL)。こちらはFFA管轄のセミプロリーグとなっており、現状Aリーグ・メンへの昇格制度はない。
