チェルシーの豪女子代表FWサム・カーがACL損傷の重傷…長期離脱が決定的に

ヒザに重傷を負ったサム・カー

チェルシーのオーストラリア女子代表FWサマンサ・カーがヒザの前十字じん帯(ACL)を損傷する重傷を負った。

現在、カーはモロッコで行われているチェルシーのトレーニングキャンプに参加していたが、そのトレーニング中に負傷した。

チェルシーは7日、「サムは近日中に専門家の診断を受け、その後クラブのメディカルチームとともにリハビリを開始する予定だ」と、エースの負傷を報告した。

また、オーストラリアサッカー連盟(FFA)は同日、正確な離脱期間に関して言及はしなかったものの、長期離脱の可能性を認めている。

オーストラリア女子代表を率いるトニー・グスタフソン監督は、「サムが(昨年のワールドカップ練習中のふくらはぎの負傷から)プレーに復帰するために過去6カ月どれだけ努力してきたかを考えると、このニュースは誰にとっても壊滅的な打撃だ」、「模範を示す彼女の能力により、チームに対するサムの指導と影響力は非常に大きい。その結果、今回のケガは代表チームにとって信じられないほどの損失となるだろう。我々は今、彼女が望む、必要とするサポートをすべて確実に受けられるようにすることに重点を置いている」と、絶対的なリーダーの離脱を嘆いた。

これまで母国のシドニーFC、パース・グローリー、アメリカのスカイブルーFC、シカゴ・レッドスターズなどで活躍したカーは2019年にチェルシーへ加入。ここまでの128試合で99ゴールを記録し、クラブの4度のWSL優勝を含む数々のタイトル獲得に貢献。個人としてもWSLで2度の得点王に輝いている。

また、オーストラリア女子代表ではここまで通算128試合69ゴールを記録。同代表は今年2月にパリ・オリンピック出場を懸けたアジア最終予選を控え、突破した場合には7月末に本大会を控える状況。それだけに世界屈指のアタッカーの今後の回復具合が注目される。

チェルシーのスタジアム計画に動き…先日に新スタジアム建設報道もブリッジ残留へ?

チェルシーは、今後もスタンフォード・ブリッジに残留する可能性があるようだ。イギリス『サン』が報じている。 1877年に開場されたスタンフォード・ブリッジは1905年からチェルシーの本拠地として100年以上に渡って使用されている。1998年に改修工事が行われたものの、老朽化や4万2000人と言われる収容人数の問題もあって、近年では大幅な収容人数を目的とした拡張工事、あるいは新スタジアム移転の計画が話し合われてきた。そんななか、先日にはスタンフォード・ブリッジ近郊のアールズコートに6万人収容の新スタジアムを建設する可能性が報じられていた。ただ、スタンフォード・ブリッジ拡張案とアールズコートでの新スタジアム建設案を巡っては、先月に“内紛”が報じられたベフダド・エグバリ氏とトッド・ベーリー氏の共同オーナー2人の間で意見が真っ向からぶつかり合っているという。エグバリ氏はブリッジに留まるために15億ポンド(約2878億円)の改修案を支持。この計画には5万5000人の収容増に、ウエストスタンドの近代化、近隣の鉄道線路上にコンクリートデッキを建設、クラブが退役軍人慈善団体ストールから購入した土地の利用なども含まれているという。スタンフォード・ブリッジの土地に新スタジアムを建設する場合、少なくとも5年の期間を必要とするのに対して、この拡張案では2年程度で工事が完了する見込みだという。これに対して、ベーリー氏はアールズコートに新スタジアムを建設する案を支持している模様。『サン』は関係者筋からの情報として、「アールズコートは実現不可能だという認識が高まっており、ベーリーは間もなくクラブを去る可能性がある」、「トッド・ベーリーが退任した場合、クラブはスタンフォード・ブリッジに残る計画を進め、5万5000人収容のスタジアムの解決策に向けて取り組むとみられる」と現時点ではブリッジ残留の可能性が高く、ベーリー氏がクラブを離れる可能性が高いとの見解を示している。 2024.10.13 23:51 Sun
