警察官へ「愚かで白人」発言、人種差別容疑がかけられたオーストラリア女子のエースFWカーは無罪判決「不適切な発言は謝罪します」

警察官への人種差別容疑がかけられていたオーストラリア女子代表のエースでありチェルシーに所属するFWサマンサ・カーだが、無罪判決を受けることとなった。

女子サッカー界でも知られた選手の1人であるカー。オーストラリア女子代表のエースでもあり、チェルシーの攻撃も牽引するストライカーだ。

しかし、2023年1月30日に警察署内で事件が発生。警察官に対し、人種差別的な嫌がらせや不安、苦痛を与えたとして告発されていた。

事件はカーのフィアンセでもあり、第一子を妊娠中のアメリカ女子代表MFクリスティ・ミュイスと出掛けていた。夕方、2人は3度Uberを呼んだものの失敗。ロンドン中心部でタクシーを拾い、カーの自宅へと帰った。

しかし、タクシー運転手は警察に電話をかけて苦情を申し立て。ミューイスが車内で嘔吐し、窓を割ったものの、清掃費用などの支払いを拒否したという。

その際、警察署へと連れて行かれた2人だが、カーが暴言を吐いたとされていた。警察官のボディカメラに映像が残っており、カーが「正直に言うと、あなたたちは本当にバカで白人だ。目を見て言うけど、あなたたちは本当にバカだ。このクソみたいなことにうんざりしている」と発言している姿が残っていた。カーは発言こそ否定しなかったが、容疑は否定していた。

陪審員は4時間にわたる審議の上、カーを無罪にすることを決定。判決後の声明でカーは「ようやくこの困難な時期を乗り越えることができました」とし、「トラウマ的な夜に不適切な発言をしたことを謝罪します。一方で、私は常に、誰かを侮辱したり傷つけたりするつもりはなかったと主張してきましたし、陪審員が全員一致で同意してくれたことに感謝します」とした。

さらに「私はピッチに戻ることに完全に集中しており、私と家族にとってエキサイティングな1年になることを楽しみにしています」と、今シーズンの活躍を誓った。

なでしこジャパンは北朝鮮とパリ五輪を懸けて対決! オーストラリアとウズべキスタンがもう1枠を争うことに【パリ五輪アジア2次予選】

1日、パリ・オリンピックのアジア2次予選が終了。最終予選に進む️4チームが決定した。 4カ国が3つのグループへと分かれて行われた2次予選。各グループの1位と2位の中での最高位のチームが最終予選へと進み、2枠を争って直接対決のみで決定する。 2位で通過する国のグループにより、対戦相手が変わるという難しいレギュレーションがある上、最終節も全ての試合が同時刻で行われないことから、条件が非常に複雑になっていた。なでしこジャパンは、ベトナム女子代表と対戦。主導権を握りながらも攻撃がうまくハマらない苦しい展開となった中、清水梨紗、守屋都弥のゴールで2-0とベトナムに勝利。無失点の3連勝でグループCを首位通過した。また、第2戦でなでしこジャパンと利害が一致し、2位通過を狙っていたウズベキスタン女子代表はインド女子代表にしっかり3-0で勝利。得失点差でベトナムを上回り、グループ2位となった。グループAでは首位に立っていたオーストラリア女子代表がチャイニーズタイペイ女子代表と対戦。なかなかゴールが生まれずに難し戦いとなったが、62分にメアリー・タイラー、68分にサマンサ・カー、76分にタメカ・ヤロップがゴールを決めて3-0で勝利。オーストラリアは13得点無失点で3連勝となり、グループ首位で終了した。なお2位はフィリピン女子代表が入っている。グループBは最終節まで混戦状態に。北朝鮮女子代表、韓国女子代表、中国女子代表が争っていた。首位の北朝鮮は最下位のタイ女子代表と対戦し0-7で圧勝。3連勝でグループ首位通過に。2位の座を争う直接対決となった中国女子代表vs韓国女子代表の一戦は、62分に韓国がシム・ソヨンのゴールで先制。勝たなければ2位になれない中国は、78分にワン・シャンシャンのゴールで追いつくも1-1のドロー。韓国が2位となった。 2位の3カ国では、勝ち点6でウズベキスタン、フィリピンが並んだなか、得失点差でウズベキスタンの通過が決定。日本、北朝鮮、オーストラリア、ウズベキスタンが最終予選に進むことが決定した。なお、なでしこジャパンは北朝鮮との対戦が決定。2024年2月24日にアウェイで、同28日にホームで対戦する。 2023.11.02 15:15 Thu
