チャンピオンシップ(イングランド2部)のバーンリーは20日、元イングランド代表MFジョンジョ・シェルヴェイ(32)の加入を発表した。契約期間は2025年6月30日までとなる。
チャールトン・アスレティックでプロデビューを果たしたシェルヴェイは、かつてリバプールやニューカッスル、ノッティンガム・フォレストなどに所属。イングランド代表としても、6キャップを記録している。
2023年からはトルコでプレー。チャイクル・リゼスポルやエユプスポルに所属していたが、現在はフリーの状態となっていた。
イングランドに戻ってきたシェルヴェイは、現在チャンピオンシップで3位につけるチームでプレーする喜びを語っている。
「(移籍が)完了して素晴らしい気分だよ。ここまでかなり長いプロセスがあったけど、今はすべてが完了した。とても楽しみだ」

バレンシアの守護神ママルダシュヴィリ、獲得狙ったプレミア勢が軒並み撤退で残留か
