“香川真司とともに”の可能性もあった? 2012年のユナイテッドがレヴァンドフスキ獲得に失敗

バルセロナのポーランド代表FWロベルト・レヴァンドフスキが2012年にマンチェスター・ユナイテッド移籍に迫った過去を明らかにしている。

2012年といえば、ドルトムントがユルゲン・クロップ体制下でブンデスリーガを連覇したりとバイエルンに負けず劣らずの力をつけた時代。その中心にいた1人がレヴァンドフスキだ。

2011-12シーズン終了後にドルトムントから日本代表MF香川真司を獲得したユナイテッドだが、“レヴァンドフスキとともに”の可能性もあった模様。レヴァンドフスキが振り返る。

ユナイテッドOBであるリオ・ファーディナンド氏のポッドキャストで、こう話す。

「僕はマンチェスター・ユナイテッド行きに『イエス』と言ったんだ。サー・アレックス・ファーガソンとの会話を覚えているよ。あれは2012年のことだった。プレシーズン前のことで、彼から電話がくるのもわかっていた」

また、破談理由にも「クラブに聞いてよ」とした上で、当時を思い返した。

「ドルトムント会長との会話も覚えている。こう言われたよ。『君が必要だ』とね。とても重要な存在だから、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドに移籍させるつもりがなかったんだ。最適なタイミングじゃなかった」

「でも、そのときに『イエス』と言ったのは本当だ。サー・アレックス・ファーガソンから電話がきたら、『ノー』とは言えない。22歳か、23歳のときなら、なおさらだ」

「ドルトムントで幸せだったけど、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドも黄金期だったしね」

ちなみに、ユナイテッドは2012年夏にアーセナルからオランダ代表FWロビン・ファン・ペルシを獲得。レヴァンドフスキとの契約がうまくいかなかったのが影響したのかもしれない。

「これ以上プレーしたくない」大エース・レヴァンドフスキがバイエルン退団希望を明言「僕の時代は終わった」

「高価な食べ物はない」ギネス記録樹立、C・ロナウドのあの肉体の秘訣を専属シェフが明かす
