エリク・テン・ハグ監督を解任し、後任探しが騒がしいマンチェスター・ユナイテッド。その裏で、なんとも情けない出来事が起こっていたようだ。イギリス『デイリー・メール』が伝えた。28日、ユナイテッドはテン・ハグ監督の退任を発表。今シーズンのプレミアリーグで14位と低迷するチームは、ついに指揮官の交代に動いた。

後任にはスポルティングCPのルベン・アモリム監督が就任することが濃厚と報じられ、すぐにでもチームに加わると見られているが、監督交代の裏でなんともお粗末な出来事があったという。
28日は、バロンドールの授賞式が開催。マンチェスター・シティのスペイン代表MFロドリが初受賞した。

バロンドールを巡っては、受賞確実という報道もなされたレアル・マドリーのブラジル代表FWヴィニシウス・ジュニオールだったが、最終的に受賞できず。これを受け、侮辱されたとしてマドリーが授賞式の参加をボイコット。誰1人参加しないこととなった。
そんな中、ユナイテッドからはアルゼンチン代表FWアレハンドロ・ガルナチョとイングランド代表MFコビー・メイヌーが参加することに。しかし、2人だけの移動ということもあり、経費削減を掲げている経営陣はとある計画を立てた。

『デイリー・メール』によれば、ユナイテッドは同じマンチェスターのライバルであるマンチェスター・シティに打診。ロドリを含めた8名のバロンドール候補者に加え、女子からも長谷川唯など多くの選手がノミネートしているシティはチャーター機を手配。そこに2人を乗せてくれないかと打診していたという。

しかし、願いは叶わず、満席であるとして拒否。ユナイテッドの2人は別の方法でパリ行きを考えることになっていたようだ。

ジム・ラトクリスフ氏が共同オーナーになってからコスト削減を図っているユナイテッドだったが、なんともお粗末な姿。2選手のためにプライベートジェットを出すのは確かに得策とは言えないが、永遠のライバルに頼ろうという考えは恥ずべきという意見も出ている。

代表活動の際には両クラブが手を組んで一緒に帰国することなどもあったが、クラブの活動ではなかなかない状況。コスト削減は叶わなかったが、結果としてテン・ハグ監督を解任し余計なコストを支払うことが確定。上手くいかないことは続くようだ。

フレッチャー氏の双子の息子がユナイテッドとプロ契約 シティのアカデミーから昨夏加入

伝説のGKカーンが語る意外な後悔「あそこに移籍すれば良かった」

「高価な食べ物はない」ギネス記録樹立、C・ロナウドのあの肉体の秘訣を専属シェフが明かす

「絶対に謝らない」ハーランド父に復讐したロイ・キーンが“報復”タックルを否定
