イングランド代表の3選手がケガによりUNL不参加、追加招集の予定はなし【UEFAネーションズリーグ】

参加辞退のメイヌー、コンサ、ギブス＝ホワイト

イングランドサッカー協会(FA)は7日、UEFAネーションズリーグ(UNL)2024-25に臨むイングランド代表の3選手が不参加となることを発表した。

今回参加しないのは、DFエズリ・コンサ(アストン・ビラ)、MFモーガン・ギブス=ホワイト(ノッティンガム・フォレスト)、MFコビー・メイヌー(マンチェスター・ユナイテッド)の3選手となる。

3選手はいずれも週末のクラブでの試合で負傷したとのこと。コンサはユナイテッド戦でハムストリングを痛め、ギブス=ホワイトはチェルシー戦でシュートブロックされた際に負傷。メイヌーはアストン・ビラ戦の終盤に交代していた。

3選手は10月に予定されているギリシャ代表、フィンランド代表戦を辞退することとなった。なお、現時点で追加招集は予定されていないという。

一方で、負傷の可能性があったバイエルンのFWハリー・ケインに関しては、代表チームのメディカルスタッフにより、問題ないことが確認されたため、活動に参加することとなる。

前イングランド代表監督のサウスゲイト氏、オファー受諾で新天地が決定か

イングランド代表の前指揮官、ガレス・サウスゲイト氏がUEFAの要職入りへ。ユーロ2024をもってイングランド代表監督辞任のサウスゲイト氏。イギリス『ミラー』によると、同氏はUEFAから届いた技術委員会常任メンバーの就任オファーを受諾したという。ユーロ直前には昨季のチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)決勝、レアル・マドリーvsドルトムントの技術報告書作成にもテクニカルオブザーバーとして招かれていたサウスゲイト氏。技術委員会の仕事をざっくり言うと、コーチングの観点から試合を分析し、試合中に起きる“新たな傾向”を見つける、というもの。最先端の視覚化ツールと膨大な量のデータも用いる「アナリスト」だ。著名なところでは、オーレ・グンナー・スールシャール氏やファビオ・カペッロ氏などが技術委員会に在籍。今回、サウスゲイト氏とともに前ウェストハム指揮官のデイビッド・モイーズ氏も常任メンバー入りとなるようだ。『ミラー』はサウスゲイト氏について、「現場復帰の計画を公言せずも、監督解任がちらほら出る時期になれば、オファーに困ることはなさそうだ」と、遅かれ早かれUEFAを離れて監督業に戻ると予想している。 2024.08.23 11:05 Fri

「『急いで決断するな』と言い忘れた」辞任サウスゲイトにヴェンゲル氏が後悔
