元チェルシーのMFモーゼスが橋岡大樹所属のルートンに加入…チェルシー時代には4つのタイトル

チェルシーでも活躍したモーゼス

ルートン・タウンは10日、元ナイジェリア代表MFヴィクター・モーゼス(33)の加入を発表した。

モーゼスはクリスタル・パレスの下部組織出身。2008年1月にファーストチームに昇格すると、2010年1月にウィガンへと完全移籍。そこでの活躍が認められ、2012年8月にチェルシーへと完全移籍する。

しかし、選手層の厚さから出番が限られ、リバプールやストーク・シティ、ウェストハム、フェネルバフチェ、インテル、スパルタク・モスクワとレンタル移籍を繰り返した。

2021年7月にスパルタク・モスクワに完全移籍すると、今夏退団。フリーの状態が続いていたが、再びイングランドに戻ることとなった。

両ウイングや両サイドハーフなど多くのポジションでプレー可能なモーゼスは、プレミアリーグ通算220試合で20ゴール20アシストを記録。ロシア・プレミアリーグでは70試合で9ゴール6アシストを記録していた。

また、チャンピオンシップ(イングランド2部)でも58試合で11ゴール6アシストを記録。1年でのプレミアリーグ復帰を目指すルートンにとっては、大きな戦力が加わることとなった。

なお、チェルシー時代にはプレミアリーグ、FAカップで優勝。ヨーロッパリーグ(EL)も2度優勝している。

モーゼスはクラブを通じてコメントしている。

「とても興奮していて、早く始めるのが待ちきれない。楽しみにしている」

「ここに来られて嬉しい。この国に来て、またサッカーを楽しめるのは僕にとって良い時期だ」

「ルートンは昨シーズンプレミアリーグに所属していたが、チャンピオンシップに降格した。今の主な目標は、クラブが再びプレミアリーグに昇格できるようサポートすることだ」
