「私は彼の立場を尊重する。誰もが自由に決定を下すことができる。しかし、選出に関しては3つの原則がある。1つは代表チームでプレーできること、2つ目は選手本人が望んでいること、3つ目は監督が選手を選ぶということだ」

◆大型補強に堅守構築のバルサが4季ぶりの覇権奪還 昨シーズンの王者であるレアル・マドリーと大型補強のバルセロナの一騎打ちが予想された中、シーズンを通して抜群の安定感を示したカタルーニャの雄が4シーズンぶり27度目の優勝を果たした。 混迷極めたここ数シーズンを経てラポルタ会長の下、ギャンブルに近い形での大型補強を敢行し、覇権奪還を目指した今季のブラウグラナ。開幕戦こそドロースタートも以降の7連勝で一気に波に乗ると、今季最初のエル・クラシコで初黒星を喫したが、その敗戦を引きずることなく中断期間を挟んで12勝1分けの13戦無敗と圧巻の戦績を記録。この間に超過密日程の中で取りこぼしが目立った宿敵を蹴落とすと、そのまま独走態勢に。エスパニョールとのダービーに快勝し、4節を残して優勝を決めた。 「誰か説明してくれ」「めちゃくちゃだ」スペイン代表の新ユニフォームがリーク、蛍光イエローのアウェイが不評「もう白の無地にすればいい」
