世界最高峰のフットボーラー2人による“ラストダンス”は残念ながら実現しないことになった。

現在、メジャーリーグ・サッカー(MLS)のインテル・マイアミは2024シーズンに向けたプレシーズンツアーを実施中。1月29日にはサウジアラビアの地でアル・ヒラルとのフレンドリーマッチ(3-4で敗戦)が行われた。

さらに、2月1日にはプレシーズンツアーの目玉であるアル・ナスル戦が組まれている。
同試合ではアル・ナスルのポルトガル代表FWクリスティアーノ・ロナウド、マイアミのアルゼンチン代表FWリオネル・メッシという稀代のメガクラック2人による、おそらくキャリア最後とみられる直接対決に注目が集まっていた。

しかし、同試合に向けた公式会見に出席したアル・ナスルのルイス・カストロ監督は、ロナウドが負傷によって同試合を欠場することを明かした。『ESPN』が伝えている。
「(メッシvsロナウドの試合は)見られない。ロナウドはグループに加わるための回復の最終段階にある。数日以内にチームとの協力を始められることを願っている。彼はこの試合に欠場するだろう」

今後、両チームによる再戦が決定した場合や代表でのフレンドリーマッチが組まれた場合、両雄による再競演が果たされる可能性は残されているものの、今回の報せは多くのフットボールファンをがっかりさせる辛いものとなった。

史上初の“A代表通算100得点”から20年…人格者アリ・ダエイ氏「サッカーが人々を結びつける価値ある存在だと実感」

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン

C・ロナウドは破局したら毎月1600万円を支払い? 「妻」と呼んで話題のジョルジーナさんとの間に契約が発覚

メッシのボディガードがピッチサイドから居なくなる…リーグから禁止も懸念を口に「ここには大きな問題がある」

過去3度の噛み付きで問題起こしたスアレスは38歳でも治らず? ただその相手はまさかのチームメイト…

「かっこいい!」アディダスがW杯優勝を称えるメッシの新スパイクを発表!ヤギのワンポイントデザインも「GOATにふさわしい」

「ほぼバルサの同窓会」「5人もいるのすごい」インテル・マイアミ来日パーティーに集まった豪華面々にファン興奮「これは夢ですか?」

メッシの左足に足されたバルセロナのタトゥー、入れた理由はクラブへの愛
