韓国代表を取材するのは日本のサッカーファンにも馴染み深い元Jリーガー!解説者へ転身しアジアカップでも現地へ

現役時代は韓国代表としても活躍したパク・チュホ氏

かつてJリーグでも活躍した元韓国代表DFがリポーターとしてアジアカップ2023に参加している。

12日に開幕したアジアカップ。当初は2023年夏に中国で開催される予定だったが、新型コロナウイルス(COVID-19)の影響もあり、中国が開催権を辞退。カタールで開催されている。

アジアの王者を決める戦いとして各国の注目度もあるアジアカップだが、韓国からはかつてJリーグでも活躍した選手がリポーターとして代表選手たちの姿を伝えているようだ。

韓国でアジアカップを放送している『tvN SPORTS』から現地に派遣されているのは、元韓国代表DFのパク・チュホ氏だ。

パク・チュホ氏は、2008年に水戸ホーリーホックでプロデビュー。その後、鹿島アントラーズ、ジュビロ磐田を経て、2011年夏にバーゼルへと移籍。さらにマインツを経てドルトムントに移籍した後、最後は蔚山現代、水原FCとKリーグのクラブでプレーし、昨シーズン限りで現役を引退していた。

韓国代表としても40試合のキャップ数を誇るパク・チュホ氏は、引退後はユーチューバーや解説者としても活躍。AFCアジアチャンピオンズリーグ(AFC)や韓国代表の試合などでもリポーターとして活躍していたなか、今回のアジアカップでも現地で取材を行っている。

韓国の初戦となったバーレーン代表戦でも、パク・チュホ氏は代表選手たちを取材。現役時代から知るエースのFWソン・フンミンらを、時折笑顔にさせつつ取材していた。

3月のインターナショナルマッチデー(IMD)がいよいよ目前に迫ってきた。 1〜2月のアジアカップ(カタール)で8強止まりに終わった森保一監督率いる日本代表は、21日、26日に2026年北中米ワールドカップ(W杯)アジア2次予選・北朝鮮とのホーム&アウェー2連戦に挑む。日本中を失望させた大舞台から彼らがどう再起するのか。そこは大いに注目されるところだ。一方、大岩剛監督率いるU-23日本代表は22日と26日にU-23マリ、U-23ウクライナとテストマッチを消化。4月に迫っているパリ五輪アジア最終予選を兼ねたAFC U-23アジアカップ(カタール)に向けた最終調整を進めることになる。後者に関して言うと、4月の最終予選がIMDでないため、欧州組の拘束力はない。現時点では鈴木唯人(ブレンビー)、小田裕太郎(ハーツ)、鈴木彩艶(シント=トロイデン)、の招集が不可能と見られ、斉藤光毅と三戸舜介(スパルタ・ロッテルダム)も微妙と言われる。彼らと同じ欧州組の佐野航大(NECナイメンヘン)もシーズン中ということで、チームが代表合流を認めるかどうかは未知数だが、最近の成長ぶりは目を見張るものがある。昨夏に赴いたNECでは1月20日のトゥエンテ戦からリーグ7試合連続出場中(3月1日のフォレンダム戦時点)。しかも2月27日のKNVBカップ準決勝・カンピュール戦と1日のフォレンダム戦で連続ゴールをゲット。チームを勝利に導く原動力となっているのだ。これだけのインパクトを残しているとなれば、「パリ五輪経由2026年W杯行き」も現実味を帯びてきたと見てよさそうだ。 20歳の佐野航大はご存じの通り、アジアカップメンバーの佐野海舟(鹿島)の実弟。昨年4月のU-20W杯(アルゼンチン)に参戦し、注目度の高かった松木玖生(FC東京)や熊田直紀(ヘンク)以上に活躍。「日本で一番目立った選手」とも言われ、将来への期待も高まった。「カテゴリーは落ちますけど、やっぱりW杯だったんで、本当に異様な空気感の中で戦いだった。球際やキワの部分の激しさもすごく感じました。そこで自分のやりたいプレーを出せたという自信はあります。でも、日本に帰ってきてからはプラスの方向に持って行けていない。強度やスピード感はJ2の方があると感じるので、そういうところに左右されないようにやらないといけない。もっと実力をつけないといけないかなと思います」とオランダに赴く直前の昨年7月末、彼はしみじみとこう語っていた。より高みを目指して、早い段階での渡欧を決断。最初はNECでなかなか出番を得られなかったが、両ウイングやトップ下、ボランチやインサイドハーフなど中盤をマルチにこなせる能力を買われたのだろう。ウインターブレイク明けからは完全に主力に定着している。佐野航大より少し早くNECの一員になった小川航基のサポートも大きいのかもしれない。ドイツで活躍した岡崎慎司(シント=トロイデン)も「自分も欧州最初にクラブだったシュツットガルトに高徳(酒井=神戸)がいて、次のマインツにも日本語の喋れるパク・チュホと意思疎通できるク・ジャチョル(済州ユナイテッド)がいたから本当に助かった」とと語っていたことがあるが、やはり当時19歳の若者にとっては日本人同士で共闘できる環境は大きかったのだろう。「自分は攻撃の部分を得意としてるので、もっと守備や強度の部分っていうのを磨いていかないといけない。J2で戦っていても、そこは本当に反省点だと思うし、もっとやっていきたいですね」渡欧前の本人は課題を口にしていたが、デュエルやボール奪取、寄せの激しさという部分は間違いなくオランダでレベルアップしたと言っていい。ボランチで出場したカンブール戦ではそういった印象を色濃く残した様子。相手がオランダ2部の格下だったとはいえ、屈強で大柄な相手と対峙しても互角以上に行けるようになったのは事実だ。そういったタフさは今後、日の丸をつけて世界舞台で戦ううえで必要不可欠な要素。しかも複数ポジションを難なくこなすユーティリティ性は招集人数が限られている五輪のような大会にはもってこい。そのためにも、何とか3月のマリ、ウクライナ2連戦には滑り込みたいところ。大岩監督の判断が大いに気になる。最終的にはA代表入りし、兄・海舟を超えていくことが本人の目指す領域。すでに兄より一足先に欧州の舞台に進出している佐野航大にはそのチャンスが少なからずある。「お兄ちゃんの試合は本当に勉強になるし、自分は守備が苦手なので、お兄ちゃんから学べることっていうのは沢山ある。お兄ちゃんが上で引っ張ってくれてるっていうのが自分にとってはすごくいい刺激になってて、あそこに追いついて追い越さないと、自分は日本代表だったり、世界に行けない。僕らはそういう関係なのかなと思います」常に兄の背中を追いかけているという佐野航大。2人揃ってブレイクし、日本代表をリードするようになっていければ理想的。まずはU-23日本代表入りという力強い一歩を踏み出し、成長曲線を一気に引き上げてほしいものである。 <hr>【文・元川悦子】<br/><div id="cws_ad">長野県松本市生まれ。千葉大学卒業後、夕刊紙記者などを経て、94年からフリーのサッカーライターとなる。Jリーグ、日本代表、海外まで幅広くフォローし、日本代表は特に精力的な取材を行い、アウェイでもほぼ毎試合足を運んでいる。積極的な選手とのコミュニケーションを活かして、選手の生の声を伝える。 <span class="paragraph-title">【動画】佐野航大がエールディビジ初ゴール! 右足一閃</span> <span data-other-div="movie"></span> <script>var video_id ="LXrKsVaMbqk";var video_start = 162;</script><div style="text-align:center;"><div id="player"></div></div><script src="https://web.ultra-soccer.jp/js/youtube_autoplay.js"></script> 2024.03.10 12:30 Sun

「泣ける」「1番グッときた」ザルツブルクが南野拓実&ファン・ヒチャンの敗退にメッセージ「私達の誇り」

湘南GKソン・ボムグンがアイドルと熱愛報道、日本でもデートを楽しむ姿…相手の事務所も認める「温かい目で見守って」

赤地に白のホームは「霜降り肉みたい」韓国代表の新ユニフォームはアウェイの方が人気に「アウェイは素晴らしいね」
