アル・ヒラルのジョルジェ・ジェズス監督がブラジル代表FWネイマールについて語った。ブラジル『グローボ』が伝えている。

ジェズス監督は、母国ポルトガルと言語を共有するブラジルでフラメンゴを率いた2019年、カンピオナート・ブラジレイロ・セリエA(ブラジル1部)とコパ・リベルタドーレスの2冠を達成。69歳の老将は昨夏からアル・ヒラルを率い、今季のサウジアラビア1部で首位に立っている。

アル・ヒラルの昨夏大型補強で目玉的存在だったのは、言うまでもなくセレソンのエース・ネイマール。しかし、同選手は昨年10月の代表戦で左ヒザ前十字じん帯断裂および半月板損傷の重傷を負い、今季中の復帰が難しいと言われている。

そんなネイマール抜きでもアル・ヒラルは19戦無敗のダントツ首位…というわけだが、ウィンターブレイクを母国ポルトガルで過ごしたジェズス監督は、リヤドへ戻る飛行機に乗り込む直前、リスボン空港で母国メディアの取材に応じ、同胞FWクリスティアーノ・ロナウド(アル・ナスル)とネイマールの違いを簡潔に説明した。

「C・ロナウドはサッカーに対して並外れた情熱を今なお維持しており、優先順位がいつも変わらない。対してネイマールのほうはサッカー以外にも情熱を持っており、サッカーより私生活の優先順位が高い」

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン
