世界中で話題となった「三笘の1mm」から1年が経った。

史上初となる冬開催となったカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)は、2022年の11月から12月にかけて開催。アルゼンチン代表の優勝で幕を閉じていた。

日本代表はベスト16の壁を破れなかったが、PK戦までもつれた末に3位のクロアチアの前に敗戦。グループステージでのドイツ代表とスペイン代表を破る戦いは多くの熱狂を呼んでいた。

そのスペイン戦は今から1年前の2022年の12月1日に開催。試合は前半にアルバロ・モラタにゴールを許し0-1で後半を迎えたものの、システム変更から一気に攻勢をかけた日本が48分に堂安律のゴールで同点に。そしてその5分後に三笘薫がラインギリギリのところで折り返し、田中碧がゴールを決めて逆転。ビデオ・アシスタント・レフェリーVARのチェックが入る中、非常に微妙な判定ながらわずかにラインを割っておらず、ゴールが認められた。

三笘のクロスの場面について、FIFAのルール上、ボールが「完全に」ラインの外に出ている必要があり、少しでもラインにかかっていればインプレーとみなされる。

三笘の折り返しのシーンは、ボールが接地している部分は完全に外にあるが、側面の頂点が僅かにラインにかかっていることが証明されており、ルールに則れば間違いなくラインアウトはしていないことになる。

このシーンは当時「三笘の1mm」と大きな話題に。カタールW杯の象徴的なシーンの1つとなった。

それから早1年が経ち、SNS上では「もう1年経つのかー!!」、「懐かしい」、「マジで興奮した!」、「一生語り継がれる」と今も多くの反響を呼んでいる。

VARがあったからこそ生まれたとも言えるこのシーン。今後も語り継がれていくことになりそうだ。

マーモウシュ移籍のフランクフルト、ワイに続きバチュアイを獲得

「ずっと仲良しでいいですね」「最高すぎる」堂安律もダブルピース! ハワイを共に楽しんだ相手は10年来の仲間「素敵です」

「漫画かよ」「ドラマがあるなぁ」“救世主”三笘薫と中村憲剛氏の13年前の姿にファンも感激「エモすぎる」
