アストン・ビラがセビージャの敏腕SDに接触か、エメリ監督が招へい熱望

アストン・ビラがセビージャのスポーツ・ディレクター(SD)を務めるモンチ氏(54)の招へいを検討しているようだ。

昨年10月にエメリ監督が就任すると順位を急激に上昇させ、最終的に今季のプレミアリーグを7位で終えたアストン・ビラ。来季のヨーロッパ・カンファレンスリーグ(ECL)出場権を手にしたクラブで、エメリ監督はさらなる成功に向けて野心を燃やしている。

イギリス『デイリー・メール』によると、指揮官は共にチームを作り上げるパートナーとして、高い実績を持つSDの招へいを希望。当初はバルセロナの退任が発表されていたマテウ・アレマニー氏の招へいを狙っていたが、同氏が土壇場でバルセロナ残留を決断したことで、モンチ氏への関心を強めたようだ。

モンチ氏は2000年にセビージャのSDに就任すると、元ブラジル代表DFダニ・アウベスや、元クロアチア代表MFイバン・ラキティッチなどの優れた原石を発掘して、セビージャの発展に貢献。2017年夏からローマのSDに就任したものの、イタリアでは思うような結果を残せなかったこともあり、2年後にセビージャへ復帰した。

エメリ監督とモンチ氏は、2013年から3年半にわたってセビージャで共に働き、ヨーロッパリーグ(EL)3連覇の偉業を達成。指揮官はアストン・ビラでもタッグを組むことで、同様の成功を収められると考えているようだ。

アストン・ビラはエメリ監督の希望を叶えるため、現在オファーを準備中とのこと。モンチ氏がどのような返事をするかは不透明だが、クラブは夏の移籍市場を前に素早い回答を期待している。
