スペイン代表FW ホセルが喜びを語った。『UEFA.com』が報じている。

25日のユーロ2024予選でノルウェー代表をホームに迎え撃ち、3-0で勝利したスペイン。エスパニョールでのエースぶりをA代表入りに結びつけたホセルは81分から出場すると、84分と85分の連続ゴールで大活躍した。

32歳にしてのデビュー戦からいきなり2ゴールのホセルは興奮冷めやらぬ様子で振り返り、家族に感謝した。

「デビュー戦で2ゴールなんて信じられないね! どんな選手にとっても、まさに最高の出来事。日頃の努力が報われた。妻、母親、子供に感謝だ。僕がここにいるためのサポートをしてくれたんだ」

ピッチに入る前にシンガードにキスをする意味にも触れると、ルイス・デ・ラ・フエンテ監督の声かけにも感謝し、今後に向けても言及した。

「ルイス・デ・ラ・フエンテの初采配で僕を信頼してくれたのを感謝しないといけない。彼に報いるために全力を尽くそうと思った。18歳の子供に戻った気分だ。年齢なんて関係ないし、それを示す素晴らしい日だ」

「今は自分たちが成し遂げたことを楽しむとき。明日からはグラスゴーでの試合に向けて、ホームの大声援を受けながら、フィジカルな相手と戦う準備をすることになる」
