カゼミロがセレソン新主将に! 「覚悟してもいたし、信頼に感謝」

ブラジル代表の新キャプテンにMFカゼミロが就任した。

2011年のブラジル代表デビューから中盤の核を担うカゼミロ。先月2月に31歳の誕生日を迎えたが、このたび、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)をもって終焉したチッチ体制から新時代の幕開けとなるセレソンの新キャプテンに任命された。

まだ新指揮官が決まっていない状況だが、今月の代表ウィークを迎えたブラジルは25日にモロッコ代表との国際親善試合に。チアゴ・シウバが選外とあって注目どころだったキャプテンマークだが、カゼミロに託される運びのようだ。

暫定監督のラモン・メネゼス氏から大役を授かったカゼミロは「考え方にはいくつかある」と語り、心境を明かしている。

「W杯ではチアゴ・シウバがキャプテンだったけど、僕の方も準備できている感じがあった。自分でも覚悟してもいたし、信頼に感謝だ。別に他の選手がキャプテンでも構わない。自分がリーダーの1人だと自覚しているし、いちキャプテンとしてグループの前で発言の自由もあるからね」

「ティティにも哲学があって、僕らもそれを尊重すべきだったけど、肩書きに関係なく、フィールド上のリーダー、最も経験のある選手なら、誰だってレフェリーらとやりとりする特権がある。敬意はピッチ上で得られるものだ」

今季加入のマンチェスター・ユナイテッドでも存在感を大きくするなか、代表でチアゴ・シウバからバトンを受け継いだカゼミロ。新指揮官が誰になるのかわからないが、今後のセレソンでも引っ張る存在であるのは間違いなさそうだ。
