リバプールに所属するなでしこジャパンのMF長野風花が、チームを勝利に導いた。

この冬に活躍の場をアメリカからイングランドに移した長野。新天地ではピッチ凍結のためにキックオフ後10分も経たずに試合中止という、珍しいデビュー戦を経験しつつ(中止なので正確にはカウントされない)、早くも定位置を確保している。

降格圏と5ポイント差の昇格組・8位リバプール(勝ち点11)は、12日に行われたFA女子スーパーリーグ(FAWSL)第15節で岩渕真奈を擁する10位トッテナム(勝ち点9)をホームに迎えた。

残留を争うライバル相手との一戦はロゼラ・アヤネに先制点を許して17分にビハインドを負うも、その後長野が2得点を演出。失点の4分後に縦パスでDFエマ・コイヴィストの同点弾を導いた長野は、35分にも絶妙スルーパスで逆転ゴールの契機となった。

左からのクロスをボックス内やや右寄りで収めると、マーカーをつり出しつつ、2枚のDFの間を通して右ポケットへ絶妙なスルーパスを供給。コイヴィストが裏を取って折り返し、ミッシー・ボー・カーンズが流し込んだ。

リバプールはこのまま2-1で逆転勝ち。試合後にはマット・ビアード監督も24歳の日本人MFを絶賛したと、イギリス『リバプール・エコー』も伝えている。

「2点目の風花はエクセレントだったね!エマが右サイドに侵入するよう、ためを作ったんだ。(チームメイトのリーアンヌ・)ローブはこの前、(長野は)リバプール女子が獲得した中で史上最高の選手だと言っていたが、それが彼女(の評価)を意味していると思うね」

長野は2月5日の第13節でもプレーヤー・オブ・ザ・マッチ(POTM)に選出され、称賛を浴びていた。7月ンのオーストラリア&ニュージーランド・女子ワールドカップ(W杯)を目指すなでしこ戦士は、新天地でも周囲の期待に応え、輝きを放っている。

「サッカー生活お疲れさまでした」乾貴士も引退の岩渕真奈に労い、思い出の写真には自分でも驚き「メンツがすごい」
