オーストラリアサッカー連盟(FFA)は30日、オーストラリア代表のグラハム・アーノルド監督(59)との契約延長を発表した。
契約期間は2026年の北中米ワールドカップ(W杯)が終了するまでとなる。
アーノルド監督は、現役時代にはサンフレッチェ広島でもプレー経験があり、引退後にはオーストラリア代表のアシスタントコーチに就任。2006年7月にフース・ヒディンク元監督の後任として暫定監督に就任した。
2007年12月にピム・ファーベク監督の下で再びアシスタントコーチに就任。その後、セントラルコースト・マリナーズで監督業を本格的にスタートさせた。
2014年2月にはベガルタ仙台の監督に就任も、わずか2カ月で解任。その後すぐにシドニーFCで指揮を執ると、2018年7月にオーストラリア代表監督に就任した。
カタールW杯のアジア予選では、11連勝を達成し史上初の快挙を達成するなど功績を残してきた。

J1町田の豪代表ミッチェル・デュークが母国メディアに退団を示唆「次の移籍期間で大きな決断をすべきかも」

オーストラリア代表の新たなコーチ陣が決定…ポポヴィッチ新監督がJ1広島で共にプレーしたフォックス氏ら入閣
オーストラリア代表のトニー・ポポヴィッチ新監督が新たなコーチ陣を任命。副官にもサンフレッチェ広島の元選手が加わった。 豪代表は、2026年北中米W杯アジア最終予選C組の2試合未勝利発進により、グラハム・アーノルド監督が辞任。後任には、前任と同じく現役時代にサンフレッチェ広島でプレーした経験を持つポポヴィッチ氏が据えられた。 フットボール・オーストラリア(サッカー連盟)は30日、ポポヴィッチ新監督が任命したコーチ陣の名簿を公表。これに伴い、前政権で副官を担った元マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのレネ・ミューレンスティーン氏、元豪代表DFのルーク・ウィルクシャー氏が退任した。 新たに選任されたのは、まずポール・オコン氏(52)。90年代後半のセリエA黄金期にラツィオとフィオレンティーナでプレーし、その他ミドルズブラやリーズ・ユナイテッドなどにも所属歴のある元豪代表DFだ。 続いてハイデン・フォックス氏(47)。こちらは1998〜2000年に広島でポポヴィッチ新監督とともにプレーし、広島からウェストハムへ移籍したという元豪代表DF。その他リーズやビーレフェルトなどでもプレー経験を持つ。 GKコーチにはフランク・ユリッチ氏(50)。現役時代にデュッセルドルフやレバークーゼン、ハノーファーでプレーし、豪代表GKとしては1996年の日本代表戦に出場した経験を持つ。 また、新たな分析官とメディカルコーチも選任され、指名したポポヴィッチ新監督は「これからの旅路に貢献できるスペシャリストを招聘できた。ダイナミックで競争力のあるオーストラリアンフットボールを育むべく、たゆまぬ努力を誓う」とコメントを寄せている。 豪代表は10月10日に最終予選C組第3節で中国代表戦(H)を戦い、そして15日の第4節、敵地・埼玉スタジアム2002で日本代表と戦う。 2024.09.30 15:53 Mon

「漫画かよ」「ドラマがあるなぁ」“救世主”三笘薫と中村憲剛氏の13年前の姿にファンも感激「エモすぎる」

財務問題が噴出したオーストラリアのAリーグだが、男子2部リーグ創設の動きは変わらないようだ。オーストラリア『news.com.au』が伝えている。 オーストラリアサッカー界の男女ともにトップディビジョンであるAリーグを巡っては、16日以降、複数の同国メディアが管轄であるオーストラリア・プロフェッショナル・リーグス(APL)の財務問題を報じ、従業員の大規模リストラを軸とした事業再編の動きが確認されている。 また、Aリーグ・コミッショナーも「Aリーグの観客動員数低迷」を主な要因とするAPLのデジタル部門廃止・リストラに向けた動きを認めたなか、Aリーグ創設当初にAPLとともにリーグ運営を行ってきたフットボール・オーストラリア(FFA/サッカー連盟)は、再び運営参加することに消極的であることも判明している。 しかし、FFAはAリーグの商業面、すなわち“運営”にこそ関与していないものの、オーストラリアのサッカー連盟としてリーグを“監督する立場”であることは言わずもがな。選手・役員登録や移籍システムなどはFFAを通して行われる。 かねてより進行してきたAリーグ・メン(男子)の2部リーグ制導入も、APLではなくFFAが主導で取り組んでおり、『news.com.au』によると、APLの財務問題に関わらず、最速で2025-26シーズンから2部リーグを創設する取り組みは続いていくという。 すでに同国で人口が集中する南東部のシドニー、メルボルンを中心に、8クラブの将来的な2部リーグ参入が認められており、さらに最大4クラブの参入が認められる可能性も。そうなると、今季のAリーグ・メンと同じく12チーム編成(※1)ということになる。 (※1)2024-25シーズンより首都キャンベラ、オークランド(ニュージーランド/越境参加)から2クラブが新規参入予定で14チーム編成に なお、現在はAリーグ・メンが唯一のプロリーグで、2部リーグに相当するのは各州(全8州)の最上位リーグであるナショナル・プレミアリーグ(NPL)。こちらはFFA管轄のセミプロリーグとなっており、現状Aリーグ・メンへの昇格制度はない。 ◆2部リーグ参入予定の8クラブ アピア・ライカート(シドニー) マルコーニ・スタリオンズ(シドニー) シドニー・オリンピックFC(シドニー) シドニー・ユナイテッド58(シドニー) サウス・メルボルン(メルボルン) エイボンデールFC(メルボルン) プレストン・ライオンズ(メルボルン) ウーロンゴン・ウルブズ(ウーロンゴン) 2024.01.17 21:05 Wed

オーストラリアにAFC脱退を求める声? 同連盟会長が明かす
▽アジアサッカー連盟(AFC)のサルマーン・アール=ハリーファ会長は、一部の中東国が、同連盟からオーストラリアサッカー連盟(FFA)を脱退させることを望んでいると明かした。UAEの新聞『アル・イテハド』が伝えた記事をオーストラリア『ABC.net』が伝えている。 ▽2006年1月からAFCに加盟したFFAは、現在開催されているアジアカップ2015の開催国としてアジアサッカーのために尽力。さらにオーストラリア代表は、韓国代表との決勝戦に臨むなど、アジアサッカー界の“顔”として認知されている。そうしたなか、AFCのサルマーン・アール=ハリーファ会長は現在、同連盟内でFFAをアジアサッカー界から脱退させる動きがあることを明かした。 「私がAFCの会長に選ばれる前(アール=ハリーファ氏の会長就任は2013年)に、オーストラリアが連盟に加入した」 「その際、AFCの総会において、オーストラリアが連盟に留まるか、もしくは脱退させるかについての再審議や決議がなされていない」 「現在、西側のアジア諸国で、オーストラリアの脱退を求める動きがある」 「そういったアラブ国家が1カ国だけではないということも認識している」 2015.01.30 11:41 Fri
