フランス代表がディディエ・デシャン監督と2026年のワールドカップ(W杯)まで契約を延長したことで、去就が注目されたジネディーヌ・ジダン氏だが、アメリカ代表からのオファーを拒否したようだ。フランス『レキップ』が伝えた。

カタールW杯では準優勝の成績を収めたフランス代表。60年ぶり3カ国目のW杯連覇は逃したものの、成功を収めた。

デシャン監督は契約が満了を迎え、今後の指揮官についてフランスサッカー連盟(FFF)が検討。予てから後任はジダン氏が有力視されていた。
しかし、FFFは7日にデシャン監督の続投を発表。次のW杯まで指揮を執ることが決定した。

これにより、レアル・マドリーの監督を退任して以降フリーで待っていたジダン氏が宙に浮くことに。グレッグ・バーホルター監督との契約が終了したアメリカ代表監督に就任する可能性が報じられた。
しかし、このオファーを拒否したと報道。フランス代表以外を指揮する気はないとのことだ。

なお、ブラジル代表、ポルトガル代表からも就任のオファーがあったものの、これも拒否したとのこと。途中でデシャン監督が解任されない限り、あと3年半待つことになるが、代表チームとしてはフランス以外は眼中にないようだ。

相手が恐れる右手…ストライカーの完成形と呼ばれた男、アラン・シアラー

「W杯不在が打撃に」ジルーがベンゼマとの関係性を告白、去就についてはミラン退団除外せず?

皇帝の逝去から一年。スーパーカップの冠名に決定/六川亨の日本サッカー見聞録

早いもので、西ドイツが生んだ偉大なフットボーラーであるフランツ・ベッケンバウアー氏が亡くなってから一年が経とうとしている(24年1月8日に逝去。78歳)。現役時代は「皇帝」のニックネームで尊敬を集め、守備だけでなく攻撃にも自由に参加する「リベロ」という概念を確立した。 W杯は66年イングランド大会で準優勝、70年メキシコ大会は3位、そして自国開催となった74年西ドイツ大会では母国に2度目となるトロフィーをもたらした。監督(肩書きはチームシェフ)として86年メキシコ大会こそディエゴ・マラドーナ率いるアルゼンチンに敗れて準優勝に甘んじたが、90年イタリア大会ではアルゼンチンに雪辱を果たし、選手と監督でW杯を制した2人目という偉業を達成した。 同じく選手と監督でW杯に優勝したブラジルの名将マリオ・ザガロ氏も24年1月5日にこの世を去り(享年92歳)、選手・監督でW杯に優勝したのはディディエ・デシャン1人になった。 さらに昨年10月6日には、西ドイツW杯決勝でベッケンバウアー氏と好勝負を演じたオランダのヨハン・ニースケン氏も逝去した(73歳)。西ドイツとの決勝戦での先制点、ゴール中央に強シュートを突き刺した衝撃は今でも忘れられない。彼のシュートは、それまで左右のスミを狙うのが常識だったPKに、新たな発想をもたらしたのではなだろうか(パネンカのチップキックによるPKも伝説だ)。 すでに2016年3月24日には、もう一人の“ヨハン”であるクライフ氏も亡くなっている。「トータルフットボール」の具現者として世界に衝撃を与えただけでなく、指導者としてバルセロナでは超攻撃的なスタイルを確立。現在のバルサの礎を築いたと言っても過言ではないだろう。彼の出現で背番号「14」は特別な番号になったはずだ。 そんなレジェンドの1人である「皇帝」の功績を称え、昨年12月20日、ドイツサッカーリーグ機構(DFL)は25～26シーズンからDFLスーパーカップの名称にフランツ・ベッケンバウアー氏の名前を冠することを発表した。 すでにバイエルン・ミュンヘンはベッケンバウアー氏の現役時代の背番号「5」を永久欠番にすると発表していた。それに続き、シーズン開幕前にブンデスリーガ優勝クラブとDFBポカール優勝クラブが激突する大会の名称が「フランツ・ベッケンバウアー・スーパーカップ」に変更されることになった。 かつてW杯のトロフィーは、ブラジルが70年メキシコ大会で3度目の優勝を果たし、永久保持するまでは、W杯の提唱者であるフランス人の「ジュール・リメ杯」と呼ばれていた(74年以降は特別な名称はない)。同じくEUROのトロフィーも提唱者であるフランス人の名前をとって「アンリ・ドロネー杯」と呼ばれていた。 しかし公式戦の名前に選手個人の名前が冠されるのは今回が初めてではないだろうか。近年の大会名にはネーミングライツ権を売ることで、企業の名前が冠されることが一般的になりつつある。そんななかで、今回のDFLの英断に拍手を送ると同時に、今年8月16日の大会では古巣バイエルンの復活にも期待したい。 文・六川亨 2025.01.04 11:00 Sat

将来が嘱望された女子大生GKが22歳で他界…スタンフォード大学の寮で見つかる

コパ・アメリカの組み合わせ決定! 北中米6カ国も参加しアメリカで開催【コパ・アメリカ2024】

南米サッカー連盟(CONMEBOL)は8日、コパ・アメリカ2024の組み合わせ抽選会を実施した。 2024年6月20日開幕し、7月14日に決勝を迎える今大会。2016年に100周年記念大会として行われたコパ・アメリカ・センテナリオ以来のアメリカ開催となる。 今大会は、南米の10カ国に加え、北中米サッカー連盟(CONCACAF)の6カ国が出場。ジャマイカ、メキシコ、パナマ、アメリカの出場が決定しており、残り2カ国はトリニダード・トバゴvsカナダの勝者、コスタリカvsホンジュラスの勝者となる。 4カ国が4つのグループに分かれて行われる中、前回大会王者のアルゼンチンはグループAに入り、ペルー、チリ、そしてトリニダード・トバゴvsカナダの勝者と対戦する。 前回準優勝のブラジルはグループDに入り、コロンビア、パラグアイ、コスタリカvsホンジュラスの勝者と同居した。 ◆コパ・アメリカ2024組み合わせ 【グループA】 アルゼンチン ペルー チリ トリニダード・トバゴ or カナダ 【グループB】 メキシコ エクアドル ベネズエラ ジャマイカ 【グループC】 アメリカ ウルグアイ パナマ ボリビア 【グループD】 ブラジル コロンビア パラグアイ コスタリカ or ホンジュラス 2023.12.08 12:20 Fri
