フランス代表がディディエ・デシャン監督と2026年のワールドカップ(W杯)まで契約を延長したことで、去就が注目されたジネディーヌ・ジダン氏だが、アメリカ代表からのオファーを拒否したようだ。フランス『レキップ』が伝えた。

カタールW杯では準優勝の成績を収めたフランス代表。60年ぶり3カ国目のW杯連覇は逃したものの、成功を収めた。

デシャン監督は契約が満了を迎え、今後の指揮官についてフランスサッカー連盟(FFF)が検討。予てから後任はジダン氏が有力視されていた。
しかし、FFFは7日にデシャン監督の続投を発表。次のW杯まで指揮を執ることが決定した。

これにより、レアル・マドリーの監督を退任して以降フリーで待っていたジダン氏が宙に浮くことに。グレッグ・バーホルター監督との契約が終了したアメリカ代表監督に就任する可能性が報じられた。
しかし、このオファーを拒否したと報道。フランス代表以外を指揮する気はないとのことだ。

なお、ブラジル代表、ポルトガル代表からも就任のオファーがあったものの、これも拒否したとのこと。途中でデシャン監督が解任されない限り、あと3年半待つことになるが、代表チームとしてはフランス以外は眼中にないようだ。

ユーロに臨む各国指揮官を英紙がファッションチェック!イタリアはアルマーニのスーツを着用

ソシエダの打倒PSGへ広がる連帯…フランス国籍のバスク人が本拠地アノエタに大挙か

将来が嘱望された女子大生GKが22歳で他界…スタンフォード大学の寮で見つかる

父はNBAの元スター・ロッドマン! リーグ最高給をもらう19歳のFWトリニティがアメリカ女子代表初ゴール

アメリカが最終節で予選敗退…パナマ初のW杯切符でホンジュラスがプレーオフへ《W杯北中米カリブ海予選》

「クールだね」米女子代表ラピノーがピンクのベリーショートヘアに!「ファビュラスだ」
