アルゼンチン代表FWリオネル・メッシの行動が注目を集めている。9日、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)の準々決勝、オランダ代表vsアルゼンチン代表が行われ、2-2で90分、延長戦が終了。PK戦の末、3-4でアルゼンチンが準決勝進出を決めた。

36年ぶりの優勝を目指すアルゼンチンは35分にナウエル・モリーナのゴールで先制。73分にはメッシがPKを沈めてリードを広げるも、終了間際に連続失点を喫し、同点に追い付かれた。
延長戦では両チームにゴールが生まれず、PK戦へ突入。後攻のアルゼンチン5人目、ラウタロ・マルティネスは左へ蹴り込んで勝負を決めると、メインスタンド側へ歓喜のダッシュ。つられるようにチームメイトやスタッフも駆け寄り、歓喜の輪を作った。

だが、メッシだけは反対方向へ走っていった。
バックスタンド側で待機していたGKエミリアーノ・マルティネスはその場で崩れるように勝利を噛み締めていた。皆がラストキッカーのもとへ集まる中、メッシだけが、立て続けに2本のPKをストップした守護神のもとへ駆け寄った。

メッシの振る舞いには「とても謙虚な王様だから彼が好き」、「誰もが勝利を決めた人のもとへ行きますが、彼は2本のPKを止めた選手のところへ」、「メッシはPK戦の真のヒーローが誰かを知っている」、「マルティネスへ走っていった唯一の男」、「それが彼がGOATである理由です」、「本当にメッシ大好きだ」、「メッシ、絶対コパからエミマルのこと好きやろ」など、多数の反響が寄せられることとなった。

キャプテンに相応しい振る舞いを見せたメッシ。悲願のタイトルへ向け、あと2勝と迫った。

メッシ 大好きなマテ茶のストローは7万円超えの特別仕様

メッシと妻は30年来の仲、幼馴染の2人が結ばれW杯で優勝するまで

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン

「ずっと夢見てきた」W杯優勝を改めてファンと共有したメッシ、感動のスピーチではW杯メンバー外の選手たちも称える「彼らも認められるに値する」

メッシ 大好きなマテ茶のストローは7万円超えの特別仕様

メッシと妻は30年来の仲、幼馴染の2人が結ばれW杯で優勝するまで

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン

「ずっと夢見てきた」W杯優勝を改めてファンと共有したメッシ、感動のスピーチではW杯メンバー外の選手たちも称える「彼らも認められるに値する」

マキシ・ロペスが元妻ワンダ・ナラとディナーに…かつてイカルディと不倫され離婚も「幸せであり続けて欲しい」
