ブラジルは9日、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)準々決勝でクロアチア代表と激突。0-0の延長前半にFWネイマールのゴールで均衡を破ったが、同後半に追いつかれ、PK戦に持ち込まれると、2-4で力尽きた。

2大会連続のベスト8に終わったブラジルの主将は相手を称えつつ、同点弾を許した場面の対応を悔しがっている。
「フットボールにおいて、相手がどこであれ、失点はつきものだ。クロアチアはクオリティのあるチームだけど、突如として少し集中力を欠いた」

「あのようなカウンターに免疫がない。少ししくじった感がある。ロストしたセカンドボールから相手に望む形でカウンターを許してしまった」
そんなチアゴ・シウバだが、年齢は38歳。このW杯で代表キャリアに区切りをつけるのも推察されるが、選手自身もその可能性を示唆した。

「残念ながら、選手としてこのトロフィーを掲げることはないだろう。将来、別の役でチャンスがあるかどうかもわからない」

「つらいね。でも、悲しくても、人生では前に進まないといけない。僕らの歩みや、みんなを誇りに思うけど、これもフットボールの一部だ」

ロナウドが日韓W杯での“大五郎カット”を謝罪、奇抜な髪型の裏事情とは?

「なぜ揃えなかった?」ブラジル代表の新ユニフォームはバランスが良くない?エンブレムが中央に配置され左右非対称に「ナイキのロゴも寄せてくれ」
