1stレグで1-3と敗れていたセルティック。2ndレグでは最低でも2点差での勝利が必要となる中、FW前田大然が先発フル出場。MF旗手怜央はベンチ入りも出番がなかった。
攻撃に出なければいけないセルティックだったが、開始9分でオラ・ソルバッケンにゴールを許し苦しい展開に。66分には前田が決定機を逸すると、69分にはヒューゴ・ヴェトレセンにゴールを許し2-0。そのまま敗れ、2戦合計5-1で敗退となった。
試合後ポステコグルー監督は、チームのパフォーマンスに言及。勝ち進むに値しない2試合だったと厳しい言葉を並べ、成功を収められなかったことが問題だとした。
「我々はこの大会で勝ち進みたかったが、残念ながら我々のパフォーマンスはそれに値しなかった。とても残念なことだ」

スコットランドでセルティック古橋の“マッシュヘア”が流行!?真似した学生に本人も太鼓判「最高の髪型だね!」

セルティックで活躍した元ギリシャ代表の長身FWサマラスが現役引退

古橋亨梧への人種差別でレンジャーズサポーター2人が逮捕、29日にはそのレンジャーズと対戦
