ポルトガルの強豪スポルティング・リスボンでプロキャリアを始め、マンチェスター・ユナイテッド時代が印象的なナニ。代表でも112試合23得点の数字を誇る新進気鋭のドリブラーは2019年2月に欧州を離れ、メジャーリーグサッカー(MLS)のオーランド・シティに加入した。
加入直後から主将を託され、初年度からMLS30試合の出場で12得点5アシストを記録。昨季も28試合で10得点7アシストとチームを引っ張ったが、昨年11月末にシーズン終了後の退団がクラブから発表された。
そこからブラジルの名門フルミネンセが興味を示すなど、今後の去就が注目されたナニだが、イタリア『スカイ』によると、ラツィオ時代で馴染みのあるイタリアが新天地になる様子。ボローニャやジェノアからもオファーがあったようだが、ヴェネツィアが非常に近い状況だという。
今季、20年ぶりにセリエA昇格を果たしたヴェネツィアはここまで20試合を戦って4勝5分け11敗の暫定17位。残留争いの渦中にいる。

「あまりに美しい」20年ぶりセリエA昇格、ヴェネツィアのユニフォームがイケてると絶賛され即完売

これからどうなる!?オシャレユニフォームで話題のヴェネツィア、デザインスタジオとの契約が今季で終了することに

世界的なラッパーが破産寸前のヴェネツィアを救う、3年ぶりセリエAに復帰した裏にドラマ…短期間で64億円の投資

インドネシア代表選手がセリエAクラブの主将に就任へ…日本戦で痛恨“空振り”の24歳DFジェイ・イツェス

デザインが絶賛されたヴェネツィアのユニフォーム、規則違反によりクラブエンブレムを削除
