38歳の元ブラジル代表メロがフルミネンセ入り! 2023年末までの契約

フルミネンセは13日、元ブラジル代表MFフェリペ・メロ(38)の獲得を発表した。契約期間は2023年末までとなる。

ブラジル屈指の潰し屋として名を轟かせるメロはフラメンゴ、クルゼイロ、グレミオを経て、2005年のマジョルカ入りを機に欧州挑戦。その後、フィレンティーナやユベントス、ガラタサライ、インテルといった名門クラブを渡り歩き、2017年1月のパウメイラス加入で母国復帰を果たした。

そのパウメイラスでも激しさが持ち味が故に警告や退場も少なくなかったが、公式戦168試合の出場で9得点6アシストをマーク。キャプテンも託され、今季もコパ・リベルタドーレスを制して連覇に貢献したが、今季限りで契約切れとなり、フルミネンセに活躍の場を移すことになった。

メロはクラブを通じて「フルミネンセのファンに言えるのは決してコミットメントと願望を欠くなどないということ。今日からフルミネンセが僕の家だ。フルミネンセが僕の2つ目の肌となるようにしてきたい」と決意を語っている。

元ブラジル代表フレッジが38歳で現役引退…ラストマッチは約7万人に見送られる
