たびたび話題となるピッチへの侵入者だが、ついに行動に出た選手が現れた。イギリス『ガーディアン』などが報じている。9日に行われた女子チャンピオンズリーグ(WCL)グループA第5節で、首位のチェルシー(勝ち点10)は2位・ユベントス(勝ち点7)をホームに迎えた。

チェルシーが圧倒的に攻め込みながらもゴールレスのまま終盤に差し掛かったところでアクシデントが発生。選手とのセルフィーを目論む男性がピッチへと侵入してきた。
目当ての選手を探してピッチをうろつく男性。多くの選手が困惑する中で、行動に出たのがオーストラリア代表FWサマンサ・カーだった。

カーは男性がピッチを横切りながらカメラをかざし、自撮りのために視界から外れた瞬間に猛ダッシュ。強烈なショルダーチャージを食らわせ、侵入者を吹き飛ばした。
男性はきれいに転倒。警備員が駆け付けると、逃げるように去っていった。

さすがに力に訴えるのは良くないとしたのか、主審はカーに警告を提示。だが、スタンドからはカーに対して大きな拍手が送られ、オーストラリアメディアも「オーストラリア人であることを誇りに思う」などの反応。侵入者を撃退したカーの行動を称賛した。

日本ではほとんど見られることはないが、世界的には話題に上る回数が増えていると思われるピッチへの侵入。チェルシーの指揮官、エマ・ヘイズ監督は試合後に「私たちは真剣にプレーヤーの福祉と安全について考えなければなりません」と、選手への影響を憂慮するコメントを残した。

なお、ゲームはゴールレスのままタイムアップ。チェルシーは今季初の無得点に終わっている。

チェルシーのエンツォ・マレスカ監督が、抗議活動を行ったファンにサポートを訴えた。イギリス『スカイ・スポーツ』が伝えている。 2022年にトッド・ベーリー氏とベフダド・エグバリ氏の共同オーナー体制となってから、移籍市場では派手な振る舞いが目立つもいまだタイトル獲得は成し遂げていないチェルシー。今シーズンは新たに就任したマレスカ監督の下でトップ4争いを続けるが、タイトルの可能性はすでにヨーロッパ・カンファレンスリーグ(ECL)のみとなっている。 前オーナーであるロマン・アブラモビッチ氏の体制下ではタイトル争いの常連だっただけに、現状に対しては一部ファンから不満も。特にマレスカのチームは年末年始から不振に陥り、プレミアリーグ直近10試合は2勝3分け5敗と低迷していただけに、その不満の声は増加する一方だった。 そんな中で、25日に行われたプレミアリーグ第27節のサウサンプトン戦前には、約200人のファンが集まり抗議活動を実施。「(ベーリー氏を中心としたコンソーシアムである)ブルーコ、チェルシーを殺すのをやめろ。我々のクラブから出ていけ」などといった横断幕も掲げられていた。 4-0で勝利したサウサンプトン戦後、マレスカ監督はこうしたファンの行いに言及。チームの取り組みを信じて欲しいと、サポートの必要性を訴えている。 「私が唯一言えることはこの瞬間、ファンは信頼しなければならないということだ。我々は正しいプロセス、正しい方向に向かっている。今シーズンは開幕以来、ほとんどの時期においてトップ4に入っているんだ」 「ファンは選手たちを信頼しなければならない。彼らはこのクラブをチャンピオンズリーグに導くため、毎日多大な努力をしているんだ」 「私は選手たちに、結果的にはおそらく最悪の時期を迎えていたが、3位と1ポイント差の4位だと言ったばかりだ。これは大きな意味があり、シーズン前半にどれだけ良い成績を残したかを示している。今は最高の形で終えることに努めるだけだ」 2025.02.26 12:40 Wed

アザールが11年ぶりにあの“ボールボーイ”と再会…問題児は現在高級ウォッカブランド経営の大富豪

昨シーズン限りで現役を引退した元ベルギー代表FWエデン・アザールが、11年ぶりにあの“ボールボーイ”と再会した。 リール、チェルシー、ベルギー代表で輝かしいキャリアを築いたアザール。2019年に加入したレアル・マドリーでは自身のコンディション管理の問題などもあり長らく負傷に悩まされた結果、最後まで全盛期の輝きを放てぬまま、昨シーズン限りで退団。その後、新天地でのキャリア続行の選択肢もあったが、昨年10月10日に32歳という若さで現役引退を決断した。 以降はフットボール界とやや距離を置き、新たな挑戦に向けて充電中の元ベルギー代表FWは、約10年前に大きな話題を集めた因縁のボールボーイとの再会を果たすことになった。 当時、チェルシーでプレーしていたアザールは、2013年1月24日に行われたキャピタル・ワン・カップ(現カラバオカップ)準決勝2ndレグのスウォンジー・シティ戦に先発出場。 ホームでの1stレグを0-2で落とし、2ndレグも0-0のまま試合終盤を迎えていたなか、スウォンジーのゴールキックとなった際に事件が発生した。 当時17歳だったボールボーイのチャーリー・モーガンはボールを拾いに行ったものの、時間稼ぎを目的にボールを戻さずにいると、アザールがボールを貰おうと駆け寄る。それでもモーガンがボールを離さずに覆い被さる形になり、これに激高したアザールがボールごとモーガンを蹴った結果、主審は同選手にレッドカードを掲示。結局、3試合の出場停止処分を科された。 それでも、当時アザールは「ボールボーイがドレッシングルームに来て、ちょっと話をした。僕も彼も互いに謝って、それで終わりになった」と、両者の関係が問題ないと説明していた。 そして、その言葉通りに事件から11年の時を経て両者は再会することになった。 アザールは24日、自身の公式X(旧ツイッター)に「引退後の嬉しいことは、昔の友人たちと再会できることだ。この11年間で長い道のりを歩んできた、友よ」というコメントと共に、モーガンとのツーショット写真を投稿した。 なお、アザールの行為が大人げないものだったとはいえ、事件当時は問題児とも指摘されたモーガンだが、現在はウォッカブランド『Au Vodka』を経営するやり手の実業家として知られている。 ホテル経営者で当時スウォンジーの幹部でもあった父親からの資金援助を受け、2016年に友人と立ち上げた事業が大成功し、2023年のイギリス『タイムズ』の報道では5500万ポンド(約103億円)の資産を持つ大富豪と紹介されていた。 <span class="paragraph-title">【写真】11年ぶりにアザールとモーガンが再会</span> <span data-other-div="movie"></span> <div id="cws_ad"><blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">A nice thing about retirement is catching up with old friends.
