ボールがゴールラインを越えたか際どい場面だったが、このピンチを乗り切ると、迎えた77分、MF杉田妃和の縦パスをボックス中央で収めたFW岩渕真奈のポストプレーから、さらにゴール前に走り込んだFW田中美南が蹴り込んでついに先制。
結局この1点が決勝点となり、なでしこジャパンは3位ながらも、各グループ3位の中で上位2チームに入り、決勝トーナメント進出が決定。一方のチリはグループ最下位での敗退が決まった。
「あれはゴールだったと思っているけど、テクノロジーとVARがあります。(勝利に)とても近づいたけど、それは不可能でした」

なでしこジャパンは27日、東京オリンピック・グループE最終節でチリ女子代表と対戦。ここまで1分け1敗で窮地に立つなでしこジャパンは背水の陣で臨むと、序盤から攻勢を続けるもゴールが遠く、両チーム無得点のまま試合終盤に差し掛かる。すると69分に最大のピンチが。ボックス右のMFヤナラ・アエドの意表を突くオーバーヘッドパスからMFフランシスカ・ララにヘディングシュートを許す。これがクロスバーに当たって真下に跳ね返りゴールラインを割ったかに思われたが、判定はノーゴール。肝を冷やす場面となった。結局この1点が決勝点となり、なでしこジャパンは3位ながらも、各グループ3位の中で上位2チームに入り、決勝トーナメント進出が決定。一方のチリはグループ最下位での敗退が決まった。

「かなりヤバい」「イカしてる」アーセナルが総柄の“派手”な新作ウェアを発表!レジェンドOBイアン・ライト氏に敬意「めちゃくちゃかっこいい」
