イングランドに痛手、マウントとチルウェルが28日まで隔離決定…ラウンド16まで欠場の可能性

イングランド代表のMFメイソン・マウントとDFベン・チルウェルの隔離期間が決定した。イングランドサッカー協会(FA)が発表した。

マウントとチルウェルは、18日に行われたユーロ2020 グループD第2節のスコットランド代表戦の試合後、チェルシーのチームメイトであるスコットランド代表MFビリー・ギルモアと談笑し、ハグもしていた。

しかし、21日にそのギルモアが新型コロナウイルス(COVID-19)のPCR検査で陽性判定を受けており、マウントとチルウェルは濃厚接触者となってしまった。

2人とも検査の結果は陰性となっているものの、イングランド代表は2人を一時的に隔離。しかし、英国公衆衛生庁との協議の結果、28日まで隔離する事態となってしまった。

チームとは離れて個別トレーニングを行なっているマウントとチルウェルだが、22日にウェンブリースタジアムで行われる第3節のチェコ代表戦は欠場となる。

この試合の結果でグループの順位が確定するが、イングランドは2位になった場合はラウンド16の試合が28日に行われるため、2人は欠場が確定。首位通過となれば29日に試合となるため、隔離は解除されることとなる。

3位になった場合は、他のグループの結果次第となり、27日か29日に試合となる。

ガレス・サウスゲイト監督は10日間の隔離になった場合は「最悪のシナリオだ」と語っていたが、そのシナリオになってしまった。

168億円で獲得も鳴かず飛ばず…チェルシーが1月にムドリク放出を検討か

元ユナイテッドSDがFAに復帰…新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任

元マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのスポーツディレクター(SD)、ダン・アシュワース氏が、イングランドサッカー協会(FA)に復帰することになった。 FAは14日、アシュワース氏が新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任すると発表。同職ではイングランド代表の男女チームと緊密に連携していくことになるという。昨年12月にユナイテッドのSDをわずか5カ月で退任したアシュワース氏。それ以前にはブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオン、ニューカッスルで手腕を発揮しており、国内外のクラブからのオファーも想定されていたが、2018年まで6年間に渡って勤務していたFAに復帰することになった。アシュワース氏は、セント・ジョージズ・パークの再開発を監督し、2028年に開催されるユーロ2028の共催に向け、競技施設とピッチの改善を目指す。さらに、この新役職は、男子フットボールのテクニカルディレクターであるジョン・マクダーモット氏と緊密に連携するとともに、FAの最高経営責任者(CEO)であるマーク・ブリンガム氏とも連携する。また、イングランド国内の地元出身のコーチの育成にも携わる予定だという。 2025.05.15 16:30 Thu

ユーロ予選に臨むイングランド女子、19歳GKキーティングがヒザ負傷で離脱…シティでは全試合に出場中

マンチェスター・シティとイングランドサッカー協会(FA)は4日、イングランド女子代表のGKキアラ・キーティング(19)がヒザの負傷のために代表活動を離脱することを発表した。イングランドは現在、女子欧州選手権(ユーロ)2025予選に向けた代表活動中。5日にホームでスウェーデン女子代表、9日にアウェイでアイルランド女子代表と対戦する。キーティングは今季のリーグ戦18試合全試合に出場し、7つのクリーンシートを達成。イングランド女子代表には昨年10月に初招集されたが、まだデビューは果たしてない。負傷の程度は明かされていないが、シティとしてはリーグ戦優勝争いの真っただ中なだけに、軽度であることを願うばかりだ。なお、キーティングに代わっては、年代別の代表で活躍しているサウサンプトンのGKケイラ・レンデル(22)が追加招集となる。 2024.04.04 21:25 Thu

W杯予選イングランドvsハンガリーのスタンドで暴動、逮捕者6名を出す事態に
