ただ、2019-20シーズンから戦力とみなされなくなり、同シーズンの後半戦はニューカッスルにローン移籍。今季はトップチームでの出場は一度もないまま、契約満了を迎えることになった。
ダニー・ローズにとってワトフォードはレンタルで加入した2009年以来、12年ぶりの復帰。来月に31歳の誕生日を迎える中、新天地として、降格から1年でプレミアリーグに舞い戻った古巣を選んだ。
