リーズ指揮官が日本代表MF田中碧を絶賛した。
代表参加の長旅による疲れも感じさせず、初戦だった18日のチャンピオンシップ(イングランド2部相当)第10節からフル出場の田中。22日に行われたワトフォードとの第11節もフル出場し、2-1の勝利に貢献した。
イギリス地元メディア『Yorkshire Evening Post』によると、リーズを率いるダニエル・ファルケ監督も主役級の活躍と評す。

「遠回りした」独2部から移籍1年目で英2部優勝の田中碧「スタートラインに立つ権利を得ただけ」と回想…更なる高みへ「不可能を可能にしていけるよう努力」

田中碧の存在大きくなる中盤をリーズが緊急補強 フリーの34歳ギラヴォギと1年契約

アーセナルのFWグリーンウッドがリーズに加入!
リーズ・ユナイテッドは28日、アーセナルからU-18イングランド代表FWサム・グリーンウッド(18)を完全移籍で獲得したことを発表した。契約期間は2023年6月30日までの3年となる。 サンダーランドのアカデミー出身のグリーンウッドは、2018年にアーセナルへ加入。イングランドの世代別代表でもあるエリートは、センターフォワードを主戦場に、セカンドトップや両ウイングでもプレー可能な万能型のアタッカーだ。 また、得意とするプレースキックは右足で蹴っているものの、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドで活躍する同姓のFWメイソン・グリーンウッドと同様に、両足をそん色なく操る器用さを併せ持つ。 なお、新シーズンの主戦場はU-23チームとなるが、トップチームを率いるマルセロ・ビエルサ監督は積極的に若手を抜擢するタイプだけに、メイソンとのプレミアリーグでの共演も期待されるところだ。 2020.08.28 18:30 Fri
