ユーロ2020のグループステージ初戦をドローで終えたスイスは、16日に行われる第2節でイタリアと対戦。グループステージ突破に向け、負けられない一戦となっている。

2016年1月にアタランタに移籍して以来、イタリアでのプレーを続けるフロイラーは、対戦相手のチームメイトに言及。ピッチの上で再会できることを喜びつつ、イタリアを倒す方法についても語った。
「チームメイトと再会できるのはとても嬉しいね。明日は(ラファエル・)トロイと(マッテオ・)ペッシーナにメッセージを送って、水曜日にピッチで再会すると思う。イタリアとは少なくとも一度は対戦することを夢見てきたんだ。『ぜひとも対戦したい』と毎回言ってきた」

「僕たちは自分たちのゲームをする必要がある。イタリアにプレッシャーをかけ、ディフェンス面で問題を起こさせるようにしなければならない。トルコのようにラインが低過ぎると、相手を簡単にさせてしまうだろう。うまくドリブルをして、コンパクトになり、シュート、できればゴールを狙う必要があるんだ」
「初戦で引き分けたプレッシャーは感じていないよ。僕たちは勝ち点1を獲得することになったけど、まだ試合が2つ残っているからね」

また、フロイラーはユーロの試合中に心停止で倒れたデンマーク代表MFクリスティアン・エリクセンについてもコメント。チームの皆が心配していると明かした。

「あの瞬間、何が起こったか理解するのは難しかった。映像を見たとき、僕たちは空港にいたんだ。皆が彼の体調や家族を心配していたよ。全員にとって特別に難しい瞬間であり、クリスティアンのことを思っていた。彼が今、無事であることを願うよ。ただ、ピッチ上ではこうしたことは考えたくないね。ゲームに集中することが難しくなってしまうから」

実はGKもいる!背番号「11」のベストイレブンはこれだ!!
