アストン・ビラに所属するアルゼンチン代表GKエミリアーノ・マルティネスが無事を報告した。
容態が心配されたが、マルティネスは試合後に「僕は回復した。大きな衝撃だったが、医師が彼らの仕事を果たしてくれた。僕はプレーを続けたかったけど、意識を失ったため、彼らは僕をピッチの外に連れ出さなければならなかった」とコメント。
また、自身のツイッターで無事を報告するとともに周囲へ感謝している。
アルゼンチン代表はその後コロンビアに同点に追いつかれ、試合は2-2の引き分けに終わったものの、「ゴールキーパーのエミリアーノ・マルティネスの検査は満足のいく結果だった。アストン・ビラの選手は、残りのメンバーとともに問題なくブエノスアイレスに戻る」と発表しており、重傷は免れたようだ。

マルティネスは現地時間8日に行われたカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)南米予選第8節でコロンビア代表戦に先発出場。チームは立ち上がりに2点を先制するも、33分にアクシデントが発生。右からの折り返しをキャッチに出たGKマルティネスに対し、コロンビア代表DFジェリー・ミナが飛び込むと接触。マルティネスはキャッチしたものの、頭部から地面に叩きつけられ、起き上がれず。そのまま担架で運びだされ、アグスティン・マルチェシンと交代していた。また、自身のツイッターで無事を報告するとともに周囲へ感謝している。
「メッセージを送ってくれた皆ありがとう。特にアドレナリンが溢れているピッチでの出来事にもかかわらず、私たちの世話をしてくれる医師のダニに感謝したい」

ディ・マリアがアルゼンチン代表復帰!スペイン生まれのDFパブロ・マフェオが初招集【2026W杯南米予選】

「向上し続けないと、家で殺される(笑)」バルベルデが最も厳しい批評家の妻や恩人などの逸話明かす

メッシと妻は30年来の仲、幼馴染の2人が結ばれW杯で優勝するまで
