2日、オーストリア代表との国際親善試合をリバーサイド・スタジアムで行ったイングランド代表。FWハリー・ケインを1トップに据えた[4-2-3-1]で臨み、優勢に試合を進めたものの、守備時に[5-3]で構えた相手を前に攻めあぐねる展開が続いていた。

そのようななか、アーセナルの彗星が輝きを見せる。57分、カウンターを仕掛けると左サイドを持ち上がったケインのクロスをボックス手前のMFジェシー・リンガードがワンタッチでゴール前へ。これはMFジャック・グリーリッシュの前でブロックを試みたDFに弾かれたが、こぼれ球をサカがゴールに流し込んだ。

結局、これが決勝点となり、スリーライオンズを勝利に導いたティーンエイジャーは自身のゴールを「おそらくこれまでのキャリアの中で最高の瞬間」と、興奮した様子で振り返った。

「(これまでで)最大の瞬間は初めてイングランド代表に招集されたことだったけれど、今はこのゴールを決めたことだね、すごくいい。ぼくはとても素晴らしい気分だよ」

元ユナイテッドSDがFAに復帰…新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】

「可愛い!」ペガサスに乗って宙を舞うイングランド代表FWサカの衝撃写真が話題沸騰「この男を愛さないわけにはいかない」
