ポーランドサッカー協会(PZPN)は14日、ヘルタ・ベルリン所属のFWクシシュトフ・ピョンテクが足首の骨折でユーロ2020に出場できなくなったことを報告した。
12日に行われたブンデスリーガ第31節のシャルケ戦で、後半立ち上がりに足首を負傷し交代を余儀なくされていたピョンテク。翌日のクラブの発表では、足首の骨折でブンデスリーガ残りの2試合を欠場することが伝えられていた。
そして、今回PZPNが発表した声明によると、ピョンテクは全治には3~4カ月を要する見込みで、6月から7月にかけて行われるユーロ2020の出場は不可能となった。
なお、ユーロ2020においてポーランド代表は、6月14日のスロバキア代表戦を皮切りに、19日にスペイン代表戦、23日にスウェーデン代表戦が予定されている。
