スコールズがグリーリッシュに移籍のすすめ「自分を高めたいならビッグクラブへ」

ポール・スコールズ氏が、アストン・ビラで活躍するイングランド代表MFジャック・グリーリッシュにビッグクラブへの移籍を勧めている。

2019-20シーズンの昇格以降、プレミアリーグで輝きを放ち続けるグリーリッシュ。同クラブの下部組織出身のMFは、4シーズンぶりとなった昨季のプレミアリーグで36試合8ゴール6アシストの成績を収めると、今季はすでにそれを上回る22試合6ゴール12アシストを記録している。

昨年9月にはイングランド代表デビューも果たし、今夏のユーロ参加も見込まれる中、スコールズ氏はより上のレベルに到達するにはビッグクラブへ移籍するしかないと助言。グリーリッシュは以前からマンチェスター・ユナイテッドからの熱い関心が伝えられているが、勧誘しているわけではないと前置きし、同クラブのレジェンドが金言を授けた。

「私は彼が大好きだが誤解しないでほしい。ただ、もし彼がマンチェスター・ユナイテッドやリバプール、マンチェスター・シティのようなトップクラブで同じ様に活躍していたら、もっと輝けるはずだと思ったのだ。トップ3に入る可能性すらある」

「ビラではプレッシャーを感じることはない。トップクラブにいれば、毎週勝つことが求められる。自分がトップクラスであることを証明するには、ビラを離れる必要がある」

アストン・ビラがスタジアム改修をスタート、ユーロ2028の会場となり5万人収容に変貌へ

2024バロンドールはロドリが初受賞! ヴィニシウスやベリンガムらマドリー3選手抑えての受賞に
