伝えられるところによると、ドイツサッカー協会(DFB)は28日、今夏開催予定の東京オリンピックに向けて、ドイツの反ドーピング機構(NADA)に、メンバー登録する可能性のある選手リストを提出。その中にフンメルスの名前があったという。
オリンピックにおけるサッカーは通常23歳以下の選手で構成された代表チームが戦うが、年齢制限のないオーバーエイジ枠が各チームに3つずつ設けられる。元々2020年夏に開催するはずだった東京五輪では、特例として年齢制限が引き上げられ、24歳以下が参加可能となる。
オーバーエイジ枠に関して、日本でも元日本代表MF本田圭佑が参加希望を公言しており、各国にとっても毎回注目ポイントとなる。

「これはどっちも買う」「素敵すぎ」ドイツ代表のW杯ユニが大好評!ホームは1908年をモチーフに

元バルサGKブラーボ、テア=シュテーゲンとの定位置争いを回想 「共存不可と断定されたが…」

批判も受けたドイツ代表ユニフォームに問題…ナチスの「SS」に類似との指摘を受け「4」のフォントを変更、アディダスは購入中止に
