奥川雅也の招集見送りに見る、日本代表の危機管理能力の高さ

日本サッカー協会(JFA)は10日、追加招集を発表していたザルツブルクのMF奥川雅也の招集見送りを発表した。

奥川は、5日に発表された当初の日本代表メンバーには含まれていなかったものの、所属するアルミニア・ビーレフェルトが、この時期の代表招集に懸念を示す声明を発表しており、それに応じる形でMF堂安律が不参加。追加招集という形で初招集を受けていた。

京都サンガF.C.の下部組織で育った奥川は、若くして“古都のネイマール”という愛称でも親しまれ、サイドを主戦場とするドリブラーとして大きな注目を集めていた。

世代別の日本代表も経験する中、2015年6月に19歳でザルツブルクへと完全移籍。その後は、武者修行を繰り返しながら成長を果たすと、2019-20シーズンからザルツブルクでプレー。多くの選手がステップアップを果たす中でレギュラーに定着し、結果を残していた。

今季の活躍も踏まえ、大きな期待を受け手の代表招集となったが、チーム合流直前にザルツブルク内で新型コロナウイルス(COVID-19)の感染者が判明。代表招集を受けていた選手へPCR検査を実施した結果、6名が陽性反応を示し、チームは派遣を辞める旨を発表していた。

その後、全選手を対象としたPCR検査をザルツブルクが実施すると、元々陽性反応を示していた6選手を含めて全員が陰性に。この真逆の結果には「何故、全く同じ検査機関でこのような異なる結果が出されたのかをすぐに調査する」とし、憤りを露わにしていた。

水頭症の治療も及ばず他界した工藤壮人に古巣が追悼…カナダからもメッセージ「一番辛い仕事」、「信じられません」

「泣いちゃった…」「絶対に忘れません」急逝の工藤壮人、『DAZN』が追悼映像を公開「本当にありがとう」
