チェルシーのフランス代表FWオリヴィエ・ジルーが、同胞のレアル・マドリーFWカリム・ベンゼマとの関係性について語っている。

レ・ブルーの絶対的エースとして2018年のワールドカップでも優勝に貢献したジルー。かたやベンゼマは、同胞のMFマテュー・ヴァルブエナへの恐喝事件が発覚した2015年11月以降、代表から追放されており、復帰を望む声はあるものの、ディディエ・デシャン監督下の現体制では再びトリコロールを背負うことはないと言われている。

今年3月下旬、ベンゼマが自身の公式インスタグラムでジルーを「ゴーカート」呼ばわりしたことをきっかけに、両者の間で舌戦が勃発。自分を「F1」と評価したベンゼマに対し、ジルーは「僕はゴーカートかもしれないけど世界王者だ」と、痛烈な返しで白星を挙げていた。

それからしばらくして代表戦が再開され、ジルーは今月7日に行われた親善試合のウクライナ代表戦で2ゴールを記録。これにより、同選手のフランス代表通算ゴール数は「42」となり、かつてユベントスで活躍してバロンドールを3度受賞したフランス代表のレジェンドであるミシェル・プラティニ氏を超えて歴代2位に浮上した。

ジルーはフランス『TF1』のインタビューで改めてベンゼマに言及。かつての言い合いは全く意に介さず、ベンゼマが代表に残っていた場合の未来を考えた。

マテラッツィ、ジダンとの“頭突き事件”を引き起こした侮辱発言の真相を明かす
