サッカーファンなら誰もが一度は見たことがあるであろう歴史に残るスーパーゴール。今回の企画『Incredible Goals』(信じられないゴール)では、これまでに生まれた驚愕のゴールを紹介していく。

今回はクリスタル・パレスのイングランド代表MFアンドロス・タウンゼントがWBA戦で決めたソロゴールだ。

◆1から10まで自分の力だけで決めたソロゴール!

トッテナムユースで育ったタウンゼントは、多くのレンタル移籍で経験を積んだ後、2013年にトップチームに定着。ニューカッスルでのプレーを経て2016年夏にクリスタル・パレスに加入した。

独力で局面を打開する突破力を武器とするタウンゼントだが、2017年3月4日に行われた、プレミアリーグ第27節のWBA戦では圧巻のソロゴールを決めている。

1-0でリードして迎えた84分、前線に人数をかけて最後の攻勢に出るWBAに対して、クリスタル・パレスが守りを固める展開が続く中、タウンゼントが魅せる。

ボックス右まで侵入してきたWBAのMFジョナサン・レコとマッチアップしたタウンゼント。駆け引きの中でボールを奪取したタウンゼントは、そのままドリブルを開始。ボールを取り返そうと追いかけてくるレコのプレッシャーをいなすと、そのまま独走態勢に。

試合終盤ということもあり、中々戻ってこないWBAディフェンスに対し、ドリブルを続けるタウンゼントは、連続シザースで相手DFを左右に振りながらボックス内に侵入。左へ切り替えし、一瞬シュートチャンスを得ると左足で強烈なシュート。GKベン・フォスターのニアポストを抜き、試合を決定づける2点目を奪った。

試合終了間際にピッチの縦幅ほぼ全てを1人で走り切って得点を奪ったタウンゼントは、両手を挙げて喜びながらピッチ上に大の字に倒れ込んだ。この得点で2-0としたクリスタル・パレスが貴重な勝ち点3を獲得した。

クリスタル・パレスは9日、北アイルランド代表MFジャスティン・デベニー(21)と契約延長したことを発表した。新たな契約期間は2027年6月30日までとなる。新契約にサインしたデベニーは、公式サイトで以下のように喜びを語った。｢本当に嬉しいよ、これでまた一歩、成長できたと思う!｣｢これは僕のキャリアにおける新たな一歩だ。すべてのステップにチャンスがあり、この機会を得られたことに感謝している。そして、新たなステップで、僕はより努力し、多くを学び、みんなに素晴らしいプレーを見せたいって思っているんだ｣ 2023年の夏にスコットランドのエアドリーオニアンズから完全移籍で加入したデベニー。加入初年度はU-21チームに在籍したが、今季からトップチームに昇格を果たすと、昨年11月に行われた第11節のフルアム戦でプレミアリーグデビュー。さらに2試合連続スタメンとなった第12節のアストン・ビラ戦でプロ初ゴールを記録した。以降は途中出場が多いものの、ここまで公式戦25試合2ゴール記録していた。また、昨年11月にUEFAネーションズリーグ2024-25に臨む北アイルランド代表に初選出されると、同月18日のルクセンブルク代表戦でフル代表デビュー。これまで3試合に出場している。 2025.05.10 10:30 Sat
