サッカーファンなら誰もが一度は見たことがあるであろう歴史に残るスーパーゴール。今回の企画『Incredible Goals』(信じられないゴール)では、これまでに生まれた驚愕のゴールを紹介していく。今回はレアル・マドリーのクロアチア代表MFルカ・モドリッチがトッテナム時代に決めたゴールだ。
モドリッチは、母国のディナモ・ザグレブで活躍後、2008年に当時のクラブ史上最高額である2300万ユーロ(当時のレートで約37億6000万円)でトッテナムに移籍。トッテナムではすぐにレギュラーの座を確保し、クラブ史上初のチャンピオンズリーグ出場権獲得に貢献するなど、不動の地位を築いた。
トッテナムでのラストシーズンとなった2012年5月2日のプレミアリーグ第34節のボルトン戦では見事なゴールを決めている。
スコアレスで迎えた37分、トッテナムは左CKのチャンスを獲得すると、キッカーのMFラファエル・ファン・デル・ファールトは、ボックス外にいたモドリッチへとパス。

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン

「トッテナム」は禁止、「スパーズ」で…クラブが改めて通達、放送局からも「トッテナム」表記が消える
現在はアンジェ・ポステコグルー監督が指揮し、韓国代表FWソン・フンミンらが所属。かつては戸田和幸氏も在籍したことがあるトッテナム・ホットスパーだが、クラブは「トッテナム」と呼ばれることを望んでいない。 チーム名は「トッテナム・ホットスパー」。愛称は「スパーズ」として知られているが、「トッテナム」と称されることも多い。 「トッテナム」と言えば、「トッテナム・ホットスパー」と誰もが考える状況。イギリス『スカイ・スポーツ』もプレミアリーグの順位表などを伝える時には「Tottenham(トッテナム)」とこれまで表記してきた。しかし、ここにきて「Spurs(スパーズ)」の表記に変更されていた。 『The Athletic』によると、2月10日、クラブからプレミアリーグの放送局に通達があったとのこと。「トッテナム・ホットスパーの名称変更」というメールが届いたという。 「トッテナム・ホットスパーはクラブ名に関して説明を行った。クラブは主にトッテナム・ホットスパーとして知られるよう要請し、短縮形としてスパーズが好まれている。クラブはトッテナムと呼ばれないよう要請する」 この通達は世界中のプレミアリーグの放送局に対して送られたとのこと。プレミアリーグの公式サイトでも、「Tottenham(トッテナム)」の表記はなく、「Tottenham Hotspur(トッテナム・ホットスパー)」か「Spurs(スパーズ)」のみになったという。 そもそも、クラブは2011年以来、「トッテナム」と呼ばれることは好ましくないというスタンス。「トッテナム」とは地域の名前であり、クラブ名ではないということが理由だ。 2024年11月にリマスターされたブランドアイデンティティを発表。「ユナイテッド、シティ、ローバーズが溢れるこの世界で、ホットスパーはただ1つ、トッテナム・ホットスパーだけです。チームやブランドについて言及する際は、『トッテナム・ホットスパー』、『トッテナム・ホットスパー・フットボール・クラブ』、または『THFC』を使用してください。決して我々のクラブを『トッテナム』、『トッテナム・ホットスパーFC』、または『TH』と呼ばないでください」とのことだ。 「スパーズ」でも確かに多くの人にとっては印象付けられる一方で、世界的に見ればNBAの「サンアントニオ・スパーズ」もあり、混同される可能性もゼロではない。むしろ「トッテナム」の方が唯一無二。いずれにしても、クラブの方針としては「トッテナム」とは呼ばれなくないようなので、ファン・サポーターの方は改めて認識すると良いかもしれない。 2025.02.22 23:55 Sat

「本当に日本のアニメ好きなのね」 スパーズ新加入FWが新たなアニメパフォを披露! SNS上ではその姿に「進撃のソランケ」「ソランケが巨人化」

スパーズ1年目で驚異の進化示す19歳ベリヴァルが新契約にサイン!
トッテナムは29日、スウェーデン代表MFルーカス・ベリヴァル(19)との契約を2031年6月30日まで延長したことを発表した。 2022年夏に当時スウェーデン3部のIFブロマポイカルナでファーストチームデビューを果たした多才なMFは、その半年後に1部のユールゴーデンに移籍。まだ17歳だった昨年1月のエストニア代表戦ではスウェーデンのA代表デビューを果たした。 一時はバルセロナ行き有力と言われたなか、昨年2月に2024-25シーズンからのスパーズ行きが発表された。 プレシーズンに好アピールを見せると、プレミアリーグ開幕節のレスター・シティ戦で早くも新天地デビュー。以降は負傷者が目立ったなか、同い年のU-21イングランド代表MFアーチー・グレイとともに定期的にプレー機会を得て、試合を経るごとに成長を遂げた。 2025年に入ると、完全に中盤の主力に定着し、EFLカップ準決勝のリバプール戦では待望の加入後初ゴールを記録。ここまで公式戦45試合1ゴール4アシストの数字を残している。 187cmの大型MFは優れた足元の技術、戦術眼に加え、パスセンスにも優れる万能型で、後方での組み立て、局面を変えるドリブルでの運び、ラストパスも出せる多才さが最大の売り。加えて、スパーズでの1年目を通じてプレーの連続性、強度においても著しい成長を示しており、厳しいシーズンを過ごすチームにおいて数少ない光を与える存在となっている。 2025.04.30 06:30 Wed
