切れ味抜群のドリブルが武器のD・コスタは2017年夏からユベントスでプレー。万全の状態であれば、戦力として計算できる実力者だが、筋肉系のトラブルによる欠場も多い。
今季もケガに悩まされ、セリエA14試合の出場にとどまるD・コスタは『The Players' Tribune』で、その胸の内を明かした。
「ピッチに立ってもケガを繰り返してばかりだから、『まだプレーできるのかな?』って思うときがある。でも、テレビで観戦していると、情熱を感じて、まだプレーできるという気持ちが湧いてくるんだ」
