2020年からメジャーリーグ・サッカー(MLS)に参入する予定で、元イングランド代表MFデイビッド・ベッカム氏が共同オーナーを務めるインテル・マイアミの目玉選手が決まったようだ。イギリス『インペンデント』と報じた。

ベッカム氏のクラブの目玉選手として獲得が期待されるのは、今シーズン限りでマンチェスター・シティを退団するスペイン代表MFダビド・シルバ(33)とのこと。来夏の加入する可能性が高いとみられている。

シルバはすでに今シーズン限りでシティを退団することが発表されており、プレミアリーグの他クラブに移籍することはないと主張。現役引退はないとし、新天地が注目されていた。
インテル・マイアミとしては、シルバがスペイン語が話せるスター選手であり、南フロリダにある大規模なヒスパニック系コミュニティからの関心を最大にしたいと考えているとのことだ。

現時点で、インテル・マイアミの選手は3人しかおらず、アルゼンチン人のMFマティアス・ペジェグリーニ、FWフリアン・カランサ、ベネズエラ人のMFクリスティアン・マクーンとのこと。12月に行われる拡張ドラフトで既存のMLSクラブから最大5名を獲得することもできる。
そのため、シルバという経験も人気のあるスター選手の獲得は是が非でも実現したい1人だ。

なお、MLSの開幕は3月のため、シティでのシーズンが終わるまでの3カ月間は、入団が決定してもプレーはできない状況だ。

プレミアリーグを4度、FAカップを2度、EFLカップを4度制し、スペイン代表としてもワールドカップとユーロを制してきたシルバ。アメリカには新たなスターが誕生しそうだ。

ベッカムに並ぶ“イケメン”…日韓W杯で一大ブームとなったイルハンはすっかり“イケオジ”に

「ハーランドがとても小さく見える」229㎝の元NBA選手とシティ選手たちの身長差に海外驚き「子供に見えてしまう」
