伝えられるところによると同大会での通算16得点は、男女合わせてトップタイの記録。男子では元ドイツ代表FWミロスラフ・クローゼが2002年の日韓大会から4度出場し、通算16得点を挙げた。
マルタの16得点の内訳は、2003年に3ゴール、2007年に7ゴール、2011年に4ゴール、2015年に1ゴール、そして今大会で1ゴールとなっているため、その記録を更新する可能性は大いにある。また、5回のワールドカップで得点した史上初のフットボーラーとなった。

女子も大学から欧州の名門へ、女子CL出場のスウェーデンの名門・ローゼンゴードに東洋大学FW門脇真依が加入! 2年契約で背番号「16」に決定

ロナウドが日韓W杯での“大五郎カット”を謝罪、奇抜な髪型の裏事情とは?

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン
